I might just suck on our navtie languge, both that site says that falk-hök is basiclly the same word. So the site must be dumb and so must I for even commenting on this

Yeah, that's not correct. They're very different birds. They don't even belong to the same family. The same order (Falconiformes), yes, but humans and lemurs also belong to the same order, so...

Hawke is Hawke in all languages... It's a name, not just a word. You wouldn't call Mr. Hawke, Mr. Falco... or Mr. Gaviao... You'd Call him Mr. Hawke even if you don't speak English.

thats how ppl said before, Hawke is Hawke because it's a person's name, should not be translated, but the word HAWK, have several translations...

霍克 is a neat one, also there are many other possibilities(transliterating of course).
and it's （sŭn） for “隼”actually，“隼” is falcon but “鹰”（ying）is hawk in most cases.
have to say that 好客/豪客 upthere is an incredibly strange way to translate hawke into chinese（personal thought）

Hooray indeed. Though in Russian it's not actually "Sokol", sokol is a falcon. Or it was the last time I learned biology.  I looked for the word in a dictionary right now, and it tells me that hawk can be translated both as 'sokol' and 'yastreb' But they are not the same birds!

 Being Finnish, I guess I would pronounce the name "Havk". Or maybe "Havk'keh" if I really want to Finnify it.

If it's Croatian or any language similiar... I asked everyone I know and the answers were like half for sokol half for jastreb.
So I just call him ptica (bird) now.
