The title says it. If you have time, try to put down a few recomendations for others.

I played a Spirit healer. I filled out ice, glyph, rock, mage, and all healing spells. I loved the glyph spells! they were a great combination with healing (Especially repulsion) Wish I got force field though, its perfect for a tank who is taking more damage than you can heal.

I've beaten nightmare with 2 toons now and working on it with a few others.

First was an Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage, which I made a build post about to share it. He was spec'd for melee buffs and crowd control, with no direct damage offensive spells. Was pretty easy with him, rock armor and the heaviest armor I could find made him a little tanky demi-god.

Second was a rogue (duelist/assassin). Since dexterity damage bonus is bugged I got him to 36 dexterity to unlock dual wield mastery and pumped his strength and constitution while ignoring dexterity and cunning (because cunning is not nearly as useful as the game makes it out to be). Dual wielded long swords and wore heavy plate armor. Not quite as easy as the Arcane Warrior but his damage output was a lot better. Evasion and his pretty high dexterity helped him tank quite well. I chose rogue over a warrior because of evasion, backstab and the +critical chance talents.

Nothing very mage-ish or rouge-ish about my builds, I have a powergamer kind of build style.

I've begun with a mage the first time but i think i've spread my talents to far out, since i'm at the final battle and can't even take out the generals....

Go Lightning full, fire up to fireball(that spell rocks!) the Hex tree full as well as shapeshifter(big mistake) and arcane warrior, but since i got AW way late in the game, i only got 2 points in it... so i'm gonna start it all over, couse this sucks!

I loved playing as a mage. I've never ever been much of a dpser in any game, so naturally I chose crowd controlling and healing for my mage and I've had alot of fun doing it. I've tried rogue, but... I miss my mage so much :( ...

I have yet to beat the game since I am in the habit of replaying characters in order to get a feel of what I actually want to play. The characters that I have been most fond of would have th be my Dual Wield Reaver / Berserker and my Duelist Archer. The style for archers (Though currently nerfed) is truly fun. I have always been a fan of kiting so to be able to do that between pinning shot, stealthing and shattering shot is actually quite fun. I also love the fact that I can always make the first move and use arrow of slaying on their strongest target. The warrior has been fun mainly due to his dps. He has done 79% of the damage in my party up until the Village haven part of my story, but I then found the playstyle kind of repeatitive.

I am thinking of starting a mage with the possibility of going into Enthropy as my main build. From what I hear about arcane warrior, I would rather avoid that for the possibility of it being too easy, so I think I will pick up Blood mage and rather not pick a second spec. For anyone experienced with playing a mage, what is the best talents to choose from. I want to be a big damage dealer but I don't want it to be ridiculously easy.

My female elfmage is level 18/19 and an arcane warrior. She has recently started swinging a greatsword that is bigger than her

I started with Human Noble Warrior with shield/sword specialization. I didn't have a lot of spells to play with, more specifically like 1 or 2 but I still don't have any regrets whatsoever. I just like tanking.

Elemental mage (Lightning/Ice) with Spirit Healer and Shapeshifter sub-class (just for the bonuses and group heal). Coupled with Mana Clash, Glyphs and an crowd-control happy Morrigan, this current set-up allows me to run healer-free and have my rogue and taunting tank to wonder off without worry.
