I'm not too big of a fan of MMOs and think we're fine without one.

If they could make it unique and not a repetitive grind-fest, that would be different, but I imagine that could be a little difficult to do, considering that MMOs are kind of repetitive by nature.

Seriously! Ever since Dragon Age: Origins, I've thought to myself "OMFG BIOWARE MAKE DRAGON AGE AN MMORPG PLOX!". I think that if they did, it would be a huge success and possibly even a "WoW killer". They got an amazing story line, and great graphics to go along! Anyone else with me here?!

Actually... I can agree, if any new mmo could take out WoW, if even a little bit... it could probably be Dragon Age. The universe is wide and deeply developed... AND you could even set it in olden times where you had old blights and whatnot so you wouldn't have to mess up the final 3 blights' plot. (That's the plot from DA:O to DA2 to the assumed DA3... maybe even more...)

I don't think the story is ready for an MMO yet.

lol no.

SWTOR is the one to watch. It seems everyone here is clueless about it. It happens to have a superb rich story and its not a grindfest.

The most viable MMO's right now (aside from WoW) operate on an F2P model. I haven't paid for a subscription in almost 3 years since I left Warcraft.

I have this recurring nightmare in which one day all single-player RPGs will become MMOs. I dread this day so much...

Myeah ? I'd like to see a multiplayer game in the DA serie, but an MMO ? pass.

When I first heard about KOTOR, I'd have happily hopped on a plane, parked myself outside the Bioware studios and strangled the first senior executive I saw. I was just a bit busy at the time. My concern was that it would end up as an ignominious end to a SP series I'd absolutely loved.

...admittedly, its now one of two MMOs that I actually fully intend to play, and I'm liking what they're up to with it, so perhaps its just as well I postponed the strangling indefinitely.

Not sure about DA:O as an MMO, but intuitively SWTOR's success or lack of success will influence decisions about the other major active franchises, ME and DA. ME would be an interesting one, although I have a sneaking suspicion that Dark Millenium Online will be staking a strong claim to that territory.

DA would be competing for share of voice against a lot of other fantasy MMOs without a readily recognisable lore (speaking for the majority of people recognising it), and that competition tends to mean its the main graveyard of MMOs.

In any event, even if they did decide to make a Dragon Age MMO, it'd take a few years to create and in the interim they're unlikely to want to kill the SP games or the related franchises...so its not exactly a pressing issue either way. ;)

...although for the record, I'd prefer it if they didn't create a DA MMO.

Perhaps a coop play with friends with different game modes would have been fun, but not an outright MMO. I hate games that sells only for multiplayer with a useless 3-4 hour campaign (*cough*CoD*cough).

No.

Also, if you want a multiplayer experience, buy the table top RPG.

I'll just wait till Guild Wars 2 to comes out. GW was the only mmorpg I ever got addicted to. We got Dragon Age 2, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Witcher 2, Final Fantasy XIII-2, FF Type 0 and among other rpgs coming out this year, top that with Guild Wars 2 and this year will be full of RPG goodness for me :D

Damn, why do people absolutely want to turn any successful franchise into an MMORPG? There is far enough MMO in my opinion.

Moreover, I prefer single player RPG with strong story. IMHO mmo are a huge step backward in term of roleplaying

No - MMORPGs are garbage. No developer anywhere should make them.

OP was Originally a troll but all of you keep posting the Obvious "No" or why it won't happen.

If someone puts enough interesting words in their thread title they get traffic. Despite the content of OP

Nope, I picture SW:TOR and it looks glorious. If Bioware made a DA MMO, it would be along the same route.

A good MMO can't be played on a console. MMOs never require high end hardware to play so I don't see the problem. MMOs are always built so that the average joe can play it on his average computer.
