[Boss Fog]

I wasn't a fan of Anders in Awakening so he's got that going against him. Perhaps DA2 will change my mind.

I think the word they're looking for is pesimistic, always looking on the downside and being a stick in the mud. It's fine and dandy to have it ocassionally and witty (like morrigan) but when it's done  too much (or practically everything he says) it just gets annoying.

Given what happened in the demo it would've been extremely hard to find a silver lining in their situation. Perhaps, if circumstances hadn't been so dire, I could see what you're saying but as far as I'm concerned he was just being practical (and he ended up being right anyway).

I really have no idea, although I have a strong suspicion that Merrill might end up my favorite. I really no nothing about these characters, but from what I've seen, I like Varric the least. This doesn't mean I dislike him at all, though.

Also, I loved Anders, but only just a little more than I hated him, and I suspect that's only going to get worse now.

I'm prepared to be pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised. gogogo

I don't think I'll hate Bethany, but I fear that she'll be boring.

I expect to dislike either Anders, Merrill, or Fenris, though.

I also dislike Carver, but that's mainly because the face he has in the demo is so outrageously ugly. Hopefully when I make a custom Hawke, he'll not look like a dopey Frankenstein monster.

Kinda hard to pick a NEW least favorite companion... we hardly know anything about them...
That being said: I guess it would be uh... Merril... she seems Mary-sueish.... (Likely going to change my mind on when the game comes out.)
