I don't really know enough about the companions to really have an opinion about them...
I do look forward to playing a mage and keeping Carver alive though, because I think the relationship with him is more interesting than the one with Bethany....

I'm totally prepared to insert my foot into my mouth once I play the game - but from my impressions so far - Aveline is by far my least favorite. She's just has way too much with this scary girl who beat me at shotputting in highschool. Although i'm sure her and I would have an awesome time shopping for flannel together and visiting Home Hardware if she were a real person.

Close second is that little dwarf bastard. I'm just not really feeling the love.

Aveline is annoying.  Her VO (or the script) goes into Keanu Reaves (dull surprise) mode at the worst times. 


"I know what she is; the witch of the wilds."  The way that line was spoken was way to matter-a-fact, though I'm not sure whether that tone was indicated on the script, or the fault of the VO.  Something more like Daveth (awed and scared) would've been more appropriate methinks.

Ander's was such a little b in Awakening but apparently his personality has changed a lot since then so I hope he's cooler this time round.

Yes, that is my impression as well. The PC is also forced to be nice to her, which is perhaps my biggest complaint. Choosing aggressive responses just makes you support her more fervently. I would have liked the opportunity to say "Sorry, but if you want me to take you seriously, you're going to have to put on some pants."

So for me, it's Isabela.

I will tell you after I know every character a bit better, but at first glance Carver is my least favorite. But who knows, after you discover the story behinds his envy and whatnot you might actually understand and like him, or pity and dislike him more, who knows.

Actually, I disliked Zevran the most in DAO. Sure, his comments about Wynne's bossom were pretty funny now and then, but other than that he was just full of bs. Not to mention he would try to kill you if you didn't improve the relationship, even though you spared his life... That was a definite GTFO moment.

Isabella all the way. Cheap, ****ty, almost naked (and people used to complain about Miranda's clothing!) **** with "heart of gold", who's afraid Hawke ,,may bring feelings into this". That's SO unexpected. Zevran was also sort of.. man-whorish type, but Isabella's character seems exaggerated to me. I don't think I'll change my mind during DA2 - I still remember, how she behaved in DA:O and it made me sick.

Right now, I dont really care for Carver, but who knows, I may like him eventually. I never liked Sten, or Zevran at all initially, but I grew to appreciate them. I still never put them in my party though. I guess ill figure out my DA2 taste in companions once I play the game.
