Is there another review out there besides the Gamestar one?

Well, if it is unsatisfying, we can all come back here and complain about it after we've finished the game ^_-

I'm fine with a Cliffhanger ending if it gets me a Dragon Age 3 and or a full on expansion. I know they promised DLC that fills in other spans of time in the decade so I'm just down for it. The only time I was disappointed by Cliffhanger endings were the first two parts of the LOTR trilogy. Besides I have ME3 to look forward to fill my time between DA2 and DA3.

Can't be worse than DA:Os ending

What did you not like about DA:O's ending?

DA:O officially ended with witch hunt and it's hard not to see why that was a bad ending

Talk to morrigan
Get book
Fade to credits

That's how DA:O ended

Ugghh.. I hated that so much. But I did like the original ending with the huge epilogue.Image IPB

If we get a cliffhanger because they game continues in Dragon Age 3, i will accept that, but if they make a cliffhanger with the intend of having the customer pay some money for a DLC, just to know the ending, i find this disgracefull and i will lose faith in Bioware.

I think most of us dont want to pay money for a dlc, just to have a closure, i do not mind if it is a cliffhanger for a new Dragon Age, but for the love of god, no expansion or dlc.

Selling us a half of a game for full price and the other half as dlc, is not oke, aslong as people type things like, i want it to be a dlc or more dlc, they will just cut parts out of the game and sell it to us as a dlc.

Anyway, depending on DA2, i will start questioning myself if buying their games Day 1 is a smart idea, untill that time, i will have faith in Bioware and hope that their product will be one to bring me alot of joy.

To all those people hoping for DLC; you're making EA execs cream their pants.

I want it. That doesn't mean I'm going to buy it. I think DLC is completely overpriced.

The ending will involve the Champion suddenly finding himself stuck in a cage in a warren underneath the city of Athkatla.

Two other games with similarities to DA2 were Alpha Protocol and Fallout New Vegas--in terms of storytelling and plot I mean, not setting obviously. Both games were said by the press to have "unsatisfying" endings. I thought both were brilliant. It's my opinion that if the player character doesn't single-handedly dismember a 50 foot tall demon from the pits of Hell in a climactic battle scene, reviewers are "unsatisfied."

So while I'm noting that reviews say the ending is unsatisfying, I'm reserving judgement until I play it for myself.

Seems to me they're doing it like Mass Effect 2. Trying to make another Trilogy. Or as EA calls them, "Cash Cows."

Didn't they say they weren't doing expansion packs for this game?

No. I remain hopeful.

Yeah they did.  I don't remember where the quote was but they said they were going to move away from full expansions and instead do more "episodic" content.

Are they becoming Valve? I don't mind it but I hope they wont delay the game's third episode!(Lets hope you understand.)

I don't really care as long as these "Cash Cows" continue to entertain me.

I'm worried about a cliffhanger, too. And, yeah, it's giving me DLC vibes.

As cool as it was, DA:O's last battle was rather clichè. That ending cutscene when Teagan looks to the tower and the Darkspawn retreat made me think "wait, I saw this before". I don't mind a different resolution for the story, as long as it doesn't contain a very forced cliffhanger. (NWN2 made me kind of pissed off, even though there was an expansion)

I don't mind an ending that leaves things open for DLC, it worked fine in Origins... even if you died.

Also, why is it always Teagan? I never get that.
