That is kind of a somewhat hard comparison... I myself, will prefer Skyrim almost for sure (being a TES fanboy and will get it on day-one
), but you can't really compare two games as different as they are. Both will probably be great on their own terms.

Right? Right? It'd be a much better game if when i used forward power attack i leaped like 10 feet in the air first, or if i did a ranged shot from sneak mode the arrow caught on fire from the badassery.

My god you're the first person who shortened Witcher 2 correctly, words cannot describe how proud I am.

If Skyrim doesn't improve the third person camera, I sadly won't play it.

I'll probably buy both and enjoy both, for I like both franchises. Bioware games tend to have a greater appeal on me, though, so I think DA2 will be more amusing

DA 2
Witcher 2
Torchlight 2
Skyrim
Mass Effect 3
Diablo 3
Dungeon Siege 3
Guild Wars 2 (pretty please)
Yes, I will get them all. Yes I can afford them (seeing as most have some time between releases and the latter ones come before Christmas). Do I compare them? No. Because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

They're both completely different games aside from the fantasy type setting. There is almost ZERO reason to try and compare the two. Im looking forward to Skyrim, but im looking just as forward to DA2.

While Dragon Age is great, it is less about Role Playing than it is about role choosing. Oblivion allowed much more freedom. Well, maybe not THAT much, but I couldn't go on murder sprees in Origins, which upset me a lot. Healthy young males need their dose of violence.

I do believe Skyrim will fare better than DA2, but despite both being RPG's, they're very different: DA is about telling a story, tactical battles, choices and more, while ES is more about the sense of exploration and doing whatever the heck you want. And as others have said, Skyrim has better graphics (though artstyle and personal preference is ofc subjective).

I don't think the devs like VS threads.
In any case I like both. It would be the same as if you were asking if we preferred DAO or Oblivion. They both have their place.

Do we even know enought about Skyrim to think about that?

After oblivion I'm unfortunately not convinced the gameplay is interesting for me. They would have to get specific reviews that highlights how skyrim is different. That and a demo.
Still it looks very good

neither...
completely different games, both are fantasy rpgs but that further than that they are completely different.
skyrim will be fun for exploring the world and for first person combat but the story, animations and voice acting will undoubtedly suck like most Bethesda games.
DA2 will be fun to the story that most likely will be great as that is what Bioware do, they've never disappointed me yet and i doubt the will this time. DA2 also have a combat system based on abilities and a party, will probably have pretty good dialogue and voice actors.
Both will be great games. DA2, Skyrim, Witcher 2 a lot of good RPGs coming out. Why do people have to fight about which one is the best? Just play them all

I have wanted to say this, but thought making a thread about this is completley pointless. Skyrim has been fair to it's competitors, and it has been cleverly released due to it's competitors. Skyrim will inevitably crush everything before it, but atleast Beth try to make a world of their own, thats why I respect them...they try, and succeed (Morrowind.)
But DA2 is the FIRST big RPG release of the year (if not THE first big release) of the year, it has no competition, unless someone will go for a game like Bulletstorm instead of DA2. I will buy every big RPG this year.
Bioware games are for the story and the characters.
Bethesda games are for their open and beautifully detailed worlds.

They have very different approaches. Bethesda games usually have average stories with good exploration, where bioware games have good stories with more linear paths. Both will be worth getting.
