Merced652: I don't know Betheada that well, Oblivion was the first game of theire I played. Also, I had the same concerns with Mass Effect, because I didn't know Bioware that well at the time either.

Link to vids? I have searched and can't find anything of the sort.

Anyway, as of right now Skyrim is an unknown factor, it is still months away from release and for all we know could be delayed.

How about we wait before actually saying Skyrim is any good. ;)

We just have a trailer for now. And so far, all I can think is that they are still using Gamebryo.

Still pumped though.

Skyrim isn't using Gamebryo, they are using a bran new engine.

Also I am very diappointed in the complete lack of Deux Ex in this thread.

Agree. I'll surely get it. It seems a awesome game.

Edit: Anyway, I'll get all of this games. Beautiful year for meB)

EDIT: Dues Ex Human Revolution looks awesome, too!

I don't like games that makes you feel you're wandering aimlessly on a huge map until you bump into a guy who gives you a quest. I like it when it is linear(maybe thats why I love FFXIII). I was only able to enjoy Fallout 3 when I used a guide. And I hate guides. So, I think DA2 will be better.

Both. Plus Skyrim doesn't come out until November so...this and the stuff inbetween Skyrim's release will keep you busy until then.

Is Guild Wars 2 supposed to be more of the same style of game? Because I really wanted to like Guild Wars but wound up hating it.

I plan to get both... Assuming I can scrape enough money together to upgrade my PC before Skyrim comes out.

As to which is better... Well, they are very different from each other, with each doing different things better than the other. Story and characters? DA2 hands down. World and exploration? Skyrim.

While I prefer Bioware as a company, and think they have made much better games then Bethesda, I am more excited about Skyrim because it was Oblivion which got me into RPGs sadly enough, and the world was so huge and epic I spent a ridiculous amount of time playing it.

Is there really any need your this ? Mosty all of the Betheada games are trash, thank the heavens for BioWare. Skrim will be trash also. Dragon age 2 without a doubt, then Mass Effect 3 and then Dragon age 3.Posted Image

I am hoping they will both be good. From the demo and everything else I have seen for DA II, I am sure I won't be disappointed. The Game Informer article on Skyrim piqued my interest, especially with all the visuals they provided.

But I honestly don't think they are comparable other than the fact that they are RPG's. They are 2 completely different games, obviously. I loved Origins for what it was and I have also enjoyed all the Elder Scrolls games. I am sure I will love DA II as well. Lots of love to go around!

OP, you forgot, TW2 is Bioware's main rival. :P

Speak of the devil, I just pointed out someone abbreviating it correctly then you come in.
Just so you know Two Worlds 2 is not and will never be Bioware's rival.

TW2 has caught on by now. I was excited for DA2 till I played the demo. It was terrible. Maybe it's not representative of the final game.

Bethesda and CD red have taken considerably more time with their sequels, and that may make a difference.

100% dumbest thread I ever readt on that site... The Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age are just too differents to be compared side by side. the gameplay, the genre, the quest design and everything, nothing in those game are comparables.

This year is going to be a great year for rpg gamers. I'm going to have to go with skyrim after watching that gameplay vid and hearing about the body customization such as height and weight. As of right now I'm more excited for dragon age because it's closer.

I wouldn't really consider Skyrim similar to DA since one is a huge open world, open ended adventure while the other one has a very defined storyline and is more emotionally engaging, at least for me. Either way I'm sure I'll be enjoying both. :)

I love lore behind the Elders Scrolls Universe;
I am wondering what is happening since the last emperor is dead and dragonfires are not lit. So they probably be a new empire then. I am looking foward how this will evolve.

If Skyrim is anything like Oblivion, it will have generic mazes, a 4 hour main quest, 5 voice actors, hundreds of boring fetch quests, and repetitive combat that boils down to kiting in circles, all in a gorgeous world populated with NPCs that all look alike and have the intelligence of the average fishstick.

From what they've demonstrated in Fallout 3 and Oblivion, Bethesda fundamentally fails to understand how to make good RPGs.

I'll put my money on DA2, even though I have my concerns about how the Dragon Age franchise is developed.

Ooooooooooooor
*spoilers*

The empire collapses, Morrowind is sacked by the Nords and Argonians, Vvardenfall is destroyed by volcanoes, surviving Dark Elves move to Solestheim, and the Black Marsh is attacked by a giant flying city destroying everything in it's path. Nice going Martin.

From what i have read in interview, your the Dragonbourne. I do not know the details that much, but your main character will slay dragons and absorb their souls. They did confirm that somewhere in the story, you will take the throne.
