I've tried the demo of DA2 and after some hits, blooded enemies look like made of lava, it's confusing, at first i thought that hurloks and ogres had been changed to lava monsters, but no, it happens to all enemies, blood splatters on them and they appear to be made of volcano lava.

I thought that was some kind of debuff effect. the "lava lines" GLOW during this. Which in DA:O always denoted a status effect/debuff/aura/etc.
