Sorry if this has been brought up before.

What would the repercussions be for cheating on your ME1 LI? That being Ash/Kaidan, since Liara's been dealt with in LotSB.  Would there simply be a conflict similar to the Jack/Miranda Tali/Legion argument, where you have to choose to side with one. Or would they go as far as forcing one to leave you without any say on your part?

The reason I'm bringing this up is that they've stated there might be a negative impact for doing this in ME3. I wouldn't call being able to choose negative. I'm just wondering what the rest of you think about the topic.

I think it depends on those fighting. For example, an Ashley v Miranda/Jack confrontation would be colourful, to say the least.
However, if it was Kaidan and Garrus, I could see them talking it through rationally.
Mind you, it could be like what happened to Liara in LotSB.
'You cheated on me? If you pick me we can have sex though.'

Realistically speaking, it shouldn't be too different from what happened with Liara in LOTSB. That is to say, no worries necessary.

The only adequate repercussion would be dismemberment

I'm actually hoping for some additional repercussions with Liara, seeing as there were people who basically got Liara back and then cheated on her (or the other way around) (honestly, I want her to kick one of my Shepard's ass for being the jerk that he is - I'm really hoping that she'll stop seeing Shepard through these super rosy glasses that she has)

Hahahaha!!! ^
However, I considered the Horizon thing to be a parting of ways. But with Liara, it was plain, dirty cheating.
And Liara has one line of outrage, and then sleep with Shepard. She should have really had a worse reaction that the VS will in ME3.

I just got the idea that whoever you choose in ME3 will cause the other to permanently leave you. That's the worst thing I could think of as far as negative impacts go.

Am argument? Why should there be any serious consequences? We had one night together. That's it. We didn't get married.

Get over it.

Would there be any repercussions from pairing up with Kelly? Does Liara in LOTSB even mention anything about it?

I'm not sure if ME2 even considered Kelly a romance, even though I think they should have.

Well for what it's worth, it doesn't award the paramour achievement for "romancing" her.

because Ilos was supposed to mean something.  I've seen people RP their characters as if it didn't, but it doesn't negate the fact that NPC was scripted to take that relationship seriously and the reprecussion to the player character should exist.  when you act like a calous jerk in real life with a person who's not a doormat, you pay for it, one way or another.

I expect Ash/Kaidan to be professional. If they can't do their jobs when the galaxy is at stake then they shouldn't be in positions of any authority. There is a lot more at stake here than two people having intercourse.

personal reprecussions.

here's an example I can think of.  Jack.  if you go for one night stand with her - she stops talking to you afterwards and if you didn't do her loyalty mission before that?  you never get the chance to.  personaly I think that they should have made her disloyal even if you had done the mission before hand, but details details.

and way to bring down the entire relationship build up through entirety of the game to one small factor of it, but I really shoudln't be surprised concidering your stance on art and video games.

Never before in my life have I used the CSI Miami meme.  I figure everyone's entitled to use it at least once.  Don't you dare judge me  :crying:

Although my canon shep did not cheat on Kaidan, if I decide to dump him I want there to be some kind of big fight. Just parting ways without an argument or anything just doesn't seem realistic. I'd also be thrilled it trying to pursue Samara had repercussions.
