No offense intended, but we've played enough Bioware games to not be surpirsed that DA2 is a dumbed down version of Origins. This is a typical pattern of Bioware.
The first installment of their series are always epic, full of features, have lots of little neat bonsuses with an epic story to go along with it.
But their 2nd installments are always stripped down with many of the things you loved from the previous game taken out completely. This is probably done so they can save money.
Their strategy is to lure you into a series by making the first installment so amazing that you get addicted. That's when they have you. They know you'll play the 2nd & 3rd installment no matter what. They know you're desperately hoping the 2nd and 3rd installement will give you the same "high" you got from the first game.
This is very similar to a drug dealer giving you his best drugs for free, then once he knows you're addicted he starts charging you outrageous prices for his crappier stashes.
Bioware has us with Dragon Age Origins, so it does't matter if DA2 is good or not. I mean look at the demo? Notice how bland all the graphics were? It's been stripped down. The dialogue options have been dumbed down and stupified. The art direction has regressed. The classes have been stripped of any color or special aspects. There is just one origin now. You can no longer make your own character that feels like your own, you have to play the character they forced on you.
Don't be surprised that DA2 has regressed and been dumb down.
