I never noticed she had a head. You sure that was in the demo?.Indolence wrote...

I was really disappointed when I saw how Ladyhawke flounces about like a tart. Before the demo was released, I'd heard that Isabela was going to get a "saunter" because she's a sexy woman, and I was okay with that because, hey, it's Isabela we're talking about here. But that doesn't mean that the main character needs to look like that! Why can't Ladyhawke walk like Aveline, a woman who wants to be taken seriously?
I guess it comes down to fetish material. Ladyhawke has to be sexy, and walk sexy, or no dude will want to stare at her butt, and we can't have that.
My Marian doesn't walk that sexy. It might have been sexy but the head bob ruins any attempt at a sexy flounce. How come everyone noticed her ass moving when her head bobs all over the place? I mean, ok.. I'm a woman so I'm less likely to stare at my character's behind than her head... but the head bobbing is so much more obvious... left and right, left and right.. like a metronome. Seriously.
The way a female protagonist runs.

I don't understand the aversion to making something sexy. Objectifying, yes. Sexifying, no. What's wrong with sexy?
There's nothing wrong with some sex appeal. In fact, I'll openly encourage it every now and again! My only issue is when it's not equal across genders.
I understand that characters like Isabela (and probably Zevran, if he was in DA2) get sexy walks because that's just who they are. But the game just assumes that the players wants his/her female main character to be sexy, even though it makes no such assumptions for a male main character.
I would be completely okay with Ladyhawke's butt-shaking if manHawke did the same thing. But he does not. Only Ladyhawke is "sexyfied," and that's when I quirk an eyebrow and object.

Go check the demo again. I swear I'm not imagining it. Even the hair is bobbing left and right, left and right.
That's nothing compared to ME2. Both Shepards have REALLY, REALLY bad head bob in that game. The Shepards violently jerk their head around while running like their don't have a spine. Bioware has like... a head bob fetish.

Dragon Age didn't use a male run animation though. Females had their own normal way of running. Not the "i really need the loo" way of running. The new animation is rubbish.
No girl I know runs the way they did in DA:O. It's very masculine. The DAII one is much more realistic.
Funny, no womanI know runs the way da2 has it, it looks like a parody of a 6 year old girl run.

Yeah......I'm a girl and I sure do not run like that. Dragon Ages animation was only masculine in cut scenes, her run was fine and totally different from the male animation. You want a masculine run animation, go play Mass Effect 2, they share the same one.

I think the takeaway value of this (and other comments, mine included) is that a lot of people run a lot of different ways. The "nobody does it" argument doesn't really work just because you don't do it (and I'm using the general "you" here.)

So I see that majority of people want male and female characters to be different in the way they act and move, but there is a WAR going on.
So the question is: Do you think it is possible to remain a LADY while chopping people's parts off, would you really think about being sexy on the battlefield?
Because fighting is clearly a masculine thing to do, and since female characters are so involved in it.

So Ladyhawk find that offencive? If you try running like that
1: you'll break a leg or fall all the time.
2: you'll stop running after everyone point and laugh.
3:you'll be sent to a lab and see how the heck you keep balance/equilibrium.
News flash Ladyhawk is a bunch of number in a computer.
mm what about the STFU? is she upset by it aswell?
We are not talking about any people we are talking about a character in a computer game. I do not give a rat how anyone runs in real life, ladyhawk runs wierd and thats all that matter.

Why would FemHawke need to think about being sexy to be sexy? Same with ManHawke?
I'm also not entirely certain I agree that fighting is a masculine thing (male-dominated yes...not sure about actually masculine).
