I did it once to avoid her ninjamance and to see her "hallucination" lines. Totally worth it!
Also, it let me go to Therum at a higher level, thus having a better chance against Annoying Krogan Elevator Guy and Pals.

I am recruiting her as late as possible because putting a latex-looking, sex-toy alien race in my game to romance is okay. Making them all female is not so much and sets my teeth on edge. Being a straight female gamer it gets so old having so few choices that making them all female feels just mean.

What I found amusing is that even though I killed Benezia before recruiting her, the Genesis comic(the DLC that lets you choose ME1 choices without playing ME1) said that Benezia died in Liara's arms.
