This is my first time trying to use multiplayer. For some reason I can get onto the multiplayer using a random account I made through the client but I cant use this account at all. When I do use the one that can get onto Multiplayer I try to select a world and for the most part I dont think I've found any that work. I only have gold edition of neverwinter nights 2 so do I have to get the other expansions in order to play now?

You have to register your CD-Key at the old Bioware.com site, Vaalyah.
Here: http://nwn2forums.bi....html?forum=109, once there, just surf around a bit, register, then enter your CD-Keys and that should do it for you. Then you should be able to jump into any Gamespy or Neverwinter Connections open game.
