People are exaggerating the truth. It is true the wheel is simplified, but it is so that you won't get Hawke's tone confused. I prefer the faster action, but the fights are longer. Putting armor on your allies is no longer works, as they actually prefer their own style of wardrobe. The devs had said that your allies do change their armor on their own during the course of the game, with a few exceptions to that rule. The voice acting does not suck, compared to Chaos Wars. (Look that up in youtube.)

I played chaos wars .... the voice acting.... ugh.... I think I need a hug.

Subjective. I liked it, but think the game definitely has been dumbed down, despite what the "fanboys" say.

Not...really? I mean, I guess you could say removing the ability to give companions armor is dumbing it down, but...not really?

Whatever. My opinion. Sod off if you don't agree.

The only opinion you should be worried about is yours. Play it and decide; it doesn't take that long.

it was good but people think that they should have to pause when fighting enemies with no skills on normal in first level will be disappointed.

Yes, it was pretty bad, the wheel dumbed the dialogues down, the combat is awkward and all the animations too jerky.......but you should really play it and decide for yourself.

*edit* Oh, you already did, missed that.

Dont listen to only the bad comments, and remeber this is the internet it is slanted towards negativity.
The main thing I got from the demo is that the frame narrative should be really good. And that combat had been improved.

Its a great demo, especially for console owners. It does its job of showing you what you'll get. PC users should be grateful for its honesty.

I loved DA:O to death I have played it so often I could no doubt write a walkthrough if I had the desire to, now the DA2 demo comes out and I have played it 6 times (each class with male and female Hawke) I plan on playing it more because personally I loved it, sure the fighting is different but the core components of the fights are still there it just looks different because instead of going *WHACK* **Pause** *WHACK* its going *WHACK WHACK WHACK*, I know thats a childish way to put it but it's the truth, the dialogue wheel is pretty cool, very similiar to Mass Effect 2 really. I much prefer my character being able to talk than just standing there silently when they are supposed to be asking questions, or that gocky look they get on their face when something exciting happens. So over all you should play the demo for yourself and see, nobody elses opinion matters but your own.

Just download and play it. It will be far more accurate than every comment you'll read here, including mine.

It's been said already, but the people that don't like it are more vocal. If you check through threads, you will see the same people posting the same stuff in every one of 'em.

Never go by a forum board's "opinion" - you need to decide if you like it or not by playing it yourself.

I think you have to play the demo more than once to get a truly good opinion (again this is my opinion). But something like this is really selective. I didn't think it sucked there was some features that I was like okay or not really liking this. And some features that I like. The only thing I'm on the fence about is it I like Female Hawke's voice.

True. Bioware chose to sacrifice the ability to dress your companions as you see fit to add more characterization to the companions. so Isabella will always look like Isabella, instead of looking like Woman in light armor #3 like in Origins. Whether this is a good or bad thing is subjective, however be aware that you can still customize the stats of companion outfits (by adding runes, etc) and  can still have them equip accessories (rings/belts), you simply can not visually change their looks.

Edit: My point, wich i forgot to make, is play the demo for yourself and formulate your own opinion, what have you got to lose?

More complex doesnt equal better... it can be both simplified and improved.
Plus its not any "simpler" really...you have abilities, cooldowns, positioning, heals, stamina and classes.
The big diffrences seems to be that the ennemys are weeker individualy but more numerous, that makes them  harder to contain and requires more running around to not let one get at your mage etc.

The demo was ok, from what features you could use, but I think many are simply comparing DAO to DA2, and that is the flaw, although they are in the same world, they are 2 differnt games with their own play style. Frankly I reserve my judgment on the game itself until I have played it through.

No the demo did not suck.

DA2 is simply different from Origins, a fact you have to accept if you want to enjoy this new installment.

The only problem I have with the game right now is it being shorter than Origins. So I'm planning to play the game on Nightmare and do all the quests on my first runthrough to stretch the game time a little.
