PC all the way. Console is god awful. The pause feature alone is enough to go PC. Having to hold down a trigger and then have a huge wheel in my face drives me bonkers. On top of that the targeting for console is horrid. Ya you can use the d-pad but if a mob is out of line of sight or something you can't even target it.

You can switch the radial menu to toggle on/off in the options vs. holding the trigger down.

Targetting is a bit awkward though on the consoles.  Especially if the enemies are all clumped together, it can be hard to tell exactly wich one you are targetting at a distance.  Maybe it just needs getting used too though.

I'm sticking to PC just because I like the input setup better.

Ya but if you switch to that radial mode, the characters immediately cast when select the spell and you have to hit it again.  Console is terrible

Except there are no mods.

God people are so misinformed .

Why do you keep repeating this?  Obviously there aren't any, the game hasn't been released yet.  After it has there will be tons of mods.  Modders could collectively create DA3 if they really wanted.

PC all the way. I played ME2 on 360, I switched to PC and never looked back.
Mods, controls, better graphics, better load times, possibly some other things that slip my mind.
Even if there are no mods at all, look at ME2. It didn't have a toolset or anything, yet I can do pretty cool things like never have to do mining, never worry about money, switch out guns, switch out when I get squaddies, etc. There is (imo) nothing that the PC version doesn't do better than the 360 version.

PS3. I alredy preordered for it but I tried teh PC version just in case. I guess I am not a PC person because I couldn't get the hang of it so I'm glad I stuck witht eh PS3. I didn't see much of a difference compared to the PC but I guess teh Direct 11x thing will make a difference but I don't really. Can't wait for Tuesday! lol

Well i could play it on my xbox (and many other games that release on it and pc)... or I could play it on my gaming PC.

Advantages of playing on my xbox:

.... I, cannot off hand think of any. I guess if it was a multiplayer game, I might prefer it on Xbox due to the convenience of xbox live, etc.

Advantages of playing on my pc:

- much faster load times (barely noticed loading on my pc... on xbox the demo seemed to having constant loading sessions.. was very annoying)
- higher resolution
- higher visual quality settings
- smoother frame rates (faster cpu / gpu and RAM than my xbox has)
- I find mouse & keyboard far more comfy for lengthy gaming than my controller
- potential to include future player / self-made mods
- freedom to mess around with .cfg / .ini, or other game files to tweak the game settings to my liking
- tactical style play feels more natural on keyboard & mouse (though it works ok still on controller I guess)

My Laptop is no longer the powerhouse it once was.. It has overheating problems and can't run anything decent for long periods of time.

So I am playing the game on 360. Besides that, I want to take advantage of my new huge TV and force everyone else in my house to enjoy the story instead of watching the same idiotic TV shows over and over.

I have the best gaming PC that money can buy, but I'm still getting console.
1) It was made for consoles.
2) 5.1 Surround sound and 42" HDTV have nothing on my 21" monitor and earbuds. Sorry.

Thus far I haven't seen any real arguments for buying on the console unless your PC can't handle it. On the other hand, the radial system on consoles is garbage compared to an action bar, so it'll be PC for me.

I've preordered my SE for the 360 as it's the console I'm most comfortable with when it comes to gaming. I do have a few games on my laptop like NWN, NWN2, BG, BG2, Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Dragon Age Origins/Awakening. I still prefer my console and controller. Always will. No you don't.  Otherwise you would have 7.1 surround and a 30 +" or 3D capable monitor... and many other things that I doubt you have.  Not having a go at you or anything but facts are facts etc.

Console, Don't have a gaming PC anymore and Won't buy/make one till wayyyy later on in the year. Plus I like gaming on my wonderful huge tv while sitting on a couch/on the bed ( No room for a computer in my room soo yea :[). As well to be able to talk to my XBL friends via chat while gaming is a plus for me (especially if we both playing the same game) The main reason I prefer console though is because of a Controller. Always done my gaming on a controller and I hate the feel of a mouse. ( Unless its an MMO, talking and chatting with mates online makes using a mouse worth it lol)

Then surely you can connect it to the T.V. since you have a epic gaming pc that should support HDMI.

ok after reading these comments, i went ahead and had another playthrough on the PC and I think you guys convinced me. Its take a little getting use to but because ive got such a beast of a PC, graphics look so much better and having the toolbar, mouse clicks and more options at my disposal instead of triggers and buttons. Hopefully getting used to the camera movements, enemy selection, etc will come with repeated usage. Thanks for your input!

Earbuds? Really? You have a gaming PC and you use earbuds? Really? Ugh.

Buy a decent pair of headphones (not earbuds) or speakers.

Oh and what the other fella above said.. there's no rocket science involved in hooking up your PC to a nice HD TV.

I'd staying with console because that's where my original DA:O save file is, but I really wish I'd started on PC so I could get some mods down the line that fix some of the annoying "upgrades" in DA:2.

They didn't for ME2 either, but between coelesced and savegame editing, you can make the game MUCH more enjoyable.  Those alone make the PC version far superior to the console (imo).

I'd usually go the console route, but I'm getting the PC version. It just feels more like Origins did. I played the demo on both the PC and 360, but the console version just felt a bit too button-mashy. It was also a little awkward to turn the camera to look around while pressing the A button.

For those who keep saying Dragon Age 2 was made for consoles, I'd disagree. Playing the DA2 demo on the PC felt very similar to playing Origins on the PC, just much faster and overall better. The difference this time is that the console versions are more differentiated from the PC version, making it more suitable for the console than Origins was. The console version of Origins felt very similar to the PC version, and thus was different than what most console gamers would be used to. DA2 is much more like a console game on the consoles, and very much like Origins on the PC.

I think the main reason to think about which to get would be dependent on which control scheme you enjoy more.

@ Demo-Mike - Not to attack you personally or anything, but why are you so adamant in your defence that there will be no mods? They have stated that mods are, while not confirmed, at least a possibility, so there is not enough substantiation yet to be stating absolutes.

The old Da:o toolset will work with Da:2. It just needs to be updated to become compatible. Bioware said they might release an update(they have no reason no to), but even if they don't release an update, the modding communities will probably release one.

*sigh*

1.) Doesn't matter. It will be better on PC even if the only difference was graphical.
2.) PC players can play of 42" HDTVs too.

Just rember, the PC and PC gamers are better than consoles and people who prefer consoles.
