Every game has to be modded these days =P I prefer the original. Kinda stupid when people make anime like hair styles.

I'll be getting both. I prefer the the more action oriented console gameplay for the DW rogue and warrior, but like the tactical gameplay for mages and archers.

Xbox because controller rapes keyboard any day of the week.

PC can play with or without a controller.

Face it. PC is better than consoles in every conceivable way. No exceptions.

I played pc and ps3 version.
though i enjoyed the console gameplay more than i imagined i will definitely get the pc version, i think the tactical gameplay will very much profit from the zoom and mouse/keyboard.
if you play a melee character on the easiest diffculty setting and dont intend to play tactical you should go for the console version

Watching a dedicated Pc player use a console controller  gives me warm feelings

I don't understand why anyone would use the console version if he/she has the choice. I mean sure, if you have a console and no PC, or a low end PC, you have to take the console version....

But if the choice is between a good PC and console, the choice is kinda obvious due to better grapics, better controls and most importantly, mods.

Valid points, going to see how the pc version plays on the tv with a controller or mouse.

I tried both demos and while the console version controlled nicer than DA:O and as you say the game is obviously more than a little leaning towards consoles i'll still be going for PC.

The graphics and mouse control seal it. Controls on a console mnight be ok on a demo but imagine late in the game when you (in DA:O anyway) had 30 icons accross the bottom of your screen for your mage... dont fancy that on a controller!!

Edit: The demo didnt seem to recgnise m 360 pad on PC, a shame they couldnt the the PC would easily be the one to get as you could use either control method!

I really like the console version.  It feels better than DAO, and even looks better than DAO.  I chuckeled a bit when I saw the pause screen saw that it looked like ME's.  If I had a better PC, maybe I would try it on there, but I don't see the point in playing a game on PC if I can't have my settings maxed--I dunno, maybe it's just me.  I even created a poll on here to see what people are buying, because I am a curious george, and partly because I really want to see how the distribution b/w platforms varies and would like to get a decent sample size to see what the preference is.(I am kind of a statistics nerd)

If anyone is interested in seeing the results or voting here's the link.  social.bioware.com/605282/polls/15861/  It opens in a new window.

yeah, i have both xbox and 360 versions and i'm still getting the 360 version of DA2. Honestly, the controls are much easier and I have many different wardens I can import. That and I have the bonus goodies for my Xbox version since it was the first version I bought. Still need to get the goodies for PC. I have yet to finish the pc version of DAO so I can't import those saves, but I do plan on getting DA2 for pc eventually.

You have a crap controller. A PC controller has software that can mapped any key to any button.  Basically, you could surf the internet with a PC controller.  I have tailored presets for all my games. Otherwise, you're using a console controller with a USB connection which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Not saying you are stupid, but why would I buy a controller for PC usgae that only works on games that the developer/distributor/whoever allows it to work on?

Get a NYKO AirFlo EX.  That 360 controller or whatever crap controller you have is a waste of money. Plus you have a built in fan to cool your hands. Ah, refreshing finger breeze.

yeah guys i definitely stand corrected and will get the PC version, thanks for convincing me. I played 3 more times on PC over the last few days and its just so much more user-friendly and seemless, let alone superior graphics, faster loads, better textures, sound, etc. Granted not everyone has the same rig as  i do but my alienware was MADE to play this game :P

I played the original Dragon Age on PC and loved.

At this point, I'm planning to give the Xbox 360 version a rent. Not sure if I want to buy it yet.

Probably won't touch the PC version for DA2 in the long run. Slightly disappointed I can't transfer my save file in, but I got over that already.

PC for me. I had Origins for the PC and 360 and disliked the 360 version quite a bit. I've tried DA2 on all three platforms. Hated it on the PS3 for some reason. Neutral to the 360 version and liked the PC version. So I'll just stay there.

PC version for me aswell. Whenever I have the choice between my PC, 360 & PS3, PC wins I'd say 95% of the time.

Only 95%? Why such a small percentage?

I tried the ps3 demo.

I gave up after about 10 minutes. The tap button to attack annoyed me to hell.

The old Da:o toolset will work with Da:2. It just needs to be updated to become compatible. Bioware said they might release an update(they have no reason no to), but even if they don't release an update, the modding communities will probably release one.

Actually, they do have a reason to update the toolset: Mods extend the lifetime of the game in the hard drive, thus making DLC buys more likely. People are more likely to buy the new DLC if still playing, and people are more likely to still be playing if there are mods. Therefore, toolset increases revenue.
