Okay this is buggin' me. In the cutscene editor we can give the actors a pose to take up and hold as default during the CS. But when I place a creature into the area with the area editor I cannot find a way to give them a pose besides default stand. I want my character to lay wounded or be kneeling. Does anyone have an answer for this?
I'm thinking I need to attach a script to the character or area and force the npc to take the pose?
Thanks.

I think they're in the Variables of the creature - http://social.biowar...bient_behaviour
Change the Value field.

I found out how to give an NPC a walk path or wander about etc. But I still fail to understand how to give then an animation to hold.
It's very helpful to be able to set a patrol path though. Thanks.
Anyone else know how to set ambient animation?

Simply for the purpose of forum searches:
To have a character be in a default animation/pose ambiently.
1. Locate the character in the area (or place in the area) that you want ambient animating only (looping behaviour)
2. Right click the creature and 'open variables'
3. Under General, click the '...' beside Variable 2da field
4. Locate AMBIENT_SYSTEM_STATE and set the value to '2' (see above wiki reference as to why)
5. Locate AMBIENT_ANIM_PATTERN and set the value based on ...
5b. Locate {Dragon Age Install Dir} \\tools\\Source\\2DA\\ambient_ai.xls and find the animation you wish to use and note the ID #
5c. Add the ID# to the AMBIENT_ANIM_PATTERN field (example, setting this to 40 will put the creatue in wall_lean_right)
6. Save and export
Thats it. Refer to bec100cr_soris as an example of a creature that will go into wall_lean_right as soon as he is loaded in.
If you want to add animations to ambient_ai.xls then thats a whole different ballgame.

whenever I try to set an ambient animation just as you have described above I get failed to refresh resource when I try to export and then no matter what I do or change in the area it still won't refresh.
