Survivability, being a ranged/melee combat monster and assault rifles looking badass, essentially.
Immunity/Heightened Rush + melee/shooting people is just ridiculously fun.
Why are soldiers so popular? What is the draw?

Why do people like the soldier?simple once you combine Adrenaline Rush with the might of the REVENANT you are unstopable.

I have to say , I use to think that other classes were boring without even playing , just from watching vids, recently I have been playing through other classes , I have to say they all have a fun factor and have only adept and engineer left to try , I even started an apology thread to the Infiltrator player s, because I just thought Inf. couldn't cut it its by far one of my favs, after playing Vanguard and Soldier so much I gave Inf. ago had a blast now I'm doing Sentinel as a fem Shep , and hope to do the last two classes sometime before ME3 drops, but as far as replay , Its soldier all the way , he seems to be the raw underdog or the Batman of ME ,really no powers just skill and training sure he has AR but its not a caster power , I hear ppl saying that they have a hard time playing on insanity with other classes I only play on insanity with whatever class I play and the other classes seem easy to me and this is my 1st play through with them , I've played soldiers over 15x at least, but find it the most challenging, and maybe that's because I play him now as a pure combat master no biotic or tech bonus powers , just to help raise the bar.

when I started mass effect, I wasn't really good at the biotic system, so playing a soldier really helped since I could just shoot the gun and hope it hit something so I could get through the story. Now I've started playing different roles. So maybe some people are like me, and had problems so needed to use the soldier to sorta ease themselves into the shooter genre.

My reason is this: I am an 'in your face' kind of player. No matter what kind of game, shooter, RPG, etc., I play a character who just moves forward, blasting anyone and everyone out of his path.
I've recently begun working on a new set of playthroughs, one for each class. But so far, my favorite classes are Soldier and Adept. Vanguard's cool, too, but I love the Singularity power.
