Introduction to the Vanguard
The vanguard is a mix between soilder and adept. Utilizing both biotic and ammo powers and more weapons then an adept. Usually the vanguard is a for a person who wants to blast the sh*t outta everything with pure awesomeness of biotic and weaponry.
Vanguard Special Power
The Vanguard's class specific power is Charge. Charge is a biotic move where you rush at an enemy with amazing speed and biotic force. Now at first charge might seem like the most useless power in the game, but let me tell you....
- If fully upgraded it can be evolved into Heavy Charge or Area Charge
- Area Charge makes charge give off a small biotic explosion at the end to knock enemy's on their feet
- Heavy charge gives you a few precious moments to slow down time and shoot enemies
- Both are verry good in their own right
The Vanguard starts out with most weapons except assualt rifle and sniper rifle. The main weapon used by a Vanguard is a shotgun, run into enemy use power then blast them with shotgun. But during the mission where you investigate the empty collector vessel you can choose to get assault rifle or sniper rifle training. I personally get the assault rifle because im not a sniper (no offense Snipers you are a very good class).Vanguards also get incendiary and cryo ammo.
- The best way to utilize the shotgun is to havy charge an enemy then blast them away
- Incediary is very usefull for the vanguard because it takes down armor quick so you can charge in
- Smg's are a quick way to whitle an enemy down so they can be Biotic'ed
Vanguards are equipped with Incendiary ammo, Cryo ammo, Charge, Shockwave, and pull. These are all excellent run and gun powers.
- All biotic powers can be evolved into heavy or area biotic powers
- Ammo powers become more powerful when evolved or into ammo of that kind for your squad
- Shockwave is a usefull way to incapacitate alot of weak enemies in the same general area
- Pull is always good for distracting one enemy while you take another more powerful foe
Vanguards usually use the run and gun technique. This technique involves runiing into a crow of enemies or using a biotic power then blasting away with a shotgun or weapon of choice.
- Probably most useful power for this technique is charge
- This class is not for staying behind cover and picking enemies off, this class involves getting up close and personal with enemies
- Probably the most useful weapon for this is shotgun or assualt rifle (collector ship acquirable)
- Good squadmates are ones that will stay back behind coverand help you while they pick off enemies or squadmates that get rightthere with you
