Would it be wise to try to play Mass Effect 2 for a rather nutral stand point. As in I make some paragon and some renegade disstions.

My main concern, saving everyone.

Also, small note:I will be making mostly Paragon dissions, but will take the odd renegade interupt every now and then.

EDIT: I will be importing charaters from ME1.

If you import a ME1 character with lots of paragon/renegade points, it should be fine.

If you're starting with a clean slate, be aware that ME2 does punish you for inconsistency. There's a guide with the details somewhere, but the bottom line is that if you don't pick almost all paragon or almost all renegade, but rather mix it up alot, you can end up with both the persuade and the intimidate options grayed out for the tougher situations to resolve.

However with proper selection of your team members, you should be able to save everyone even if you never use an intimidate or persuade option. Some team members might be non-loyal, but if you set it up right, they should all live.

Not technically true, as the game never "punishes" you for being neutral.  There are some goodies (conversation options mostly) that you won't be able to unlock without the import bonuses if you play neutral.  This leads to certain conflicts in which you must pick a side, and lose the loyalty of the one you side against.  However, the game is still perfectly completable without those loyalties.  You can even get the "best ending" this way, so it really is no punishment, just a lack of reward.

That's another way to put it. Either way, my point was simply that you do indeed have fewer options with a "neutral" approach than a consistent paragon/renegade approach.

You may not be able to get all of your crew loyal, but with proper management of the final mission they could still all make it through alive.

Of course, if you decide that you must take a consistently paragon or renegade approach, you've already prejudged most of the choices you have between options, anyway. ME2's persuades are a bit of a catch-22 that way. :/

I strongly suggest modding (look for the PC or 360 modding threads) if you want to play in a neutral style. Modding to give yourself a ton of extra paragon and renegade points is one of the easiest mods you can execute and it will let you make whatever decision you want whenever you want without having to worry about whether your paragon or renegade scores will be high enough to keep all your crew loyal.
