Playing a male mage, and I know Varric and Aveline will nearly always be in my party. The third slot will probably rotate to try everyone out.

Due to how I play, my BEST friends won't be on my team probably. I'm of course refering to Merrill and Fenris. They seem like the best characters we know of so far. But other than that, Anders, Aveline, (not at first since I'm pro-Mage and anti-Chantry), and Carver/Bethany just because, (but I might end up making Carver into ***SPOILERS*** a templar ***END SPOILERS***).

I'm going to try and use them all. In Origins, I never used Sten or Ogrhen because I didn't care for their personalities. I hope that there is some sort of camp or house where your party stands around so you can talk to them like in ME, DAO and Awakening. Otherwise I'd never get to know them if they aren't in my party.

My first playthrough is going to be as a Male Mage so i will probably have Isabella at some point to get that "romance" out of the way first. Save Merril for a warrior
Other then that maybe Anders if he is still good at healing, Aveline seems to be the best tank with her special tree so it will most likely look like this on the first run

Will be mixing it up as too on other playthroughs just to see how all companions/LI play out.

Tactically, I agree with this post 100%.
I will also be playing a male mage paragon.... I guess Anders takes the place of Wynne, Aveline = Alistair and Isabella for the rogue.

I'll play a warrior. It is already certain that I'll have Bethany at my side.  Aveline probably too.

alright, i decided!

i'm gonna be male mage hawke.

my party will be as follows (if isabella is the LI i find more appealing then) me offensive mage, anders support healing mage, isabella my rogue, and carver as a defensive 2handed warrior (unless fenris surprises me with how interesting he is but i doubt it)

if merril is a more interesting LI than it'll be...me as offensive mage, merril as support and healing, varric as my rogue / crowd control, and carver as tanky 2her. (again unless fenris surprises me)

I think for my warrior, male Hawke I will have Aveline, Merrill, and Sebastian.
Mage FemHawke will have Isabela, Fenris, and Varric. (the conversations alone will be gold I think)

In the end, I'll probably be rotating through everyone depending on the battle situation.

I like to try each character a little bit, but I did have my go-to party in Origins and I most likely will for this game too.

I will usually play as a male mage. I'll probably take Anders, Aveline, and Isabella/Merrill. Anders will definitely be my bff, and I think Aveline as well. (*BROFIST WITH AVELINE*)

I wish it wasn't necessary to have a rogue, because Merrill is my favorite so far of the two female romance options, but Anders has to be in the party. So I might just save Merrill for my rogue playthrough.

My first femHawke will be a mage, and it makes all this choose-your-party stuff kinda difficult: I want both Anders and Merrill fighting alongside with me. But I also need a tank. And a rogue. Damn it.
I suppouse, my party will look like Hawke-mage+Varric+Anders+Aveline\\Merrill.

1. Female Hawke, Anders LI, class undecided other than not mage because I want Bethany in the party (even though I enjoyed mage in the demo the most).
2. Anders. Primary healer.
3. Bethany. Attack magic, but capable of healing in a pinch (with the new cooldowns I feel a second who can heal will be necessary).
4. Isabela, Sebastian, or Aveline, depending on what class I choose for Hawke.

I don't like Varric or Merrill so I will avoid using them. I would like Isabela or Sebastian most for my fourth, but I don't like the warrior gameplay in the demo, so I may end up being rogue archer and having Aveline fourth or (gasp!), no warrior in the party and use Isabela or Sebastian.

I like so many characters this time around they really made the decision tough.
