Does bioware hate healing and healers?

I've had 3 people chugging down potions almost at the same time in the demo.. Wouldn't be able to do this with a group cooldown.Beerfish wrote...

I remember when you had a limited number of spells you could cast at one time and once you casted them you had to rest and prepare the next set of spells before casting again...
That's the D&D magic system. I don't think they would be allowed to use that in DA even if they wanted to.

This is how I see it too. So long cool downs in healing, pretty much means forget healing. Just go heavy in offensive and run around as defensive. At least that I did in demo...zyron_the_great wrote...

Excellent, I was misinformed then or misunderstood. I only ever had one person do a potion at a time.

Yes I've seen quite a few people mention this group cooldown on potions. As the demo wasn't the final build and is, in fact quite old, I'm worried that this is something that has been added afterwards. If it is then that means you get 3 heals (1 mage and 2 potions) total per minute, so gotta hope there's no aoe damage on your group until you get high enough level to be able to specialise SH and get group heal if it is a change in the final game.

If they had that approach in the DA:2 that would add several hours of engaging playtime for me.
