I wasn't really that worried about this until now, but I saw Carver bite on the 360 in a livestream and it sucked, and, well... It's not that I'm unhappy, it's just dramatically unsatisfying to have characters leave so suddenly and stupidly, with so little payoff afterward. I'll reserve judgment until I see Isabela in action, but I suspect we have a party of Isabela's whose loyalty depends on our doing stupid crap. Ugh, Bioware. Your stories would be stronger and less obnoxious if you just took player control over the plot away completely and just told a single, coherent tale. Well, I'll see, I guess. Still very excited and Fenris' whole... presentation... has one me over. Too bad I'm getting my mage on.

I actually like that companions will leave, or that they will follow their own goals regardless of what you think. It makes it more realistic to me; you could end up completely friendly with every single party member and that never made sense to me. It's like, your actions have consequences and can sour a relationship. You shouldn't be able to make up for being a couple douche with a bottle of wine or a necklace.

So now that I know that Fenris and Isabela both suck as people, there got both companions that I wnated to romance. The fact that Bethany leaves after Act 1 has also cut her out of my party. Looks like I'm using Sebastian, Merrill and Aveline.
