Last night some guy was doing a live stream and we saw that part about Merrill leaving her clan. His livestream got banned, though.

Isabella never came back.
I just helped Varric exorcise a haunted house. We found a piece of the Relic his brother brought back from The Deep Roads.
I let him keep it. I may regret this.

So if Bethany, Carver and Isabela are just temporary companions, why did the devs says that they were full companions and treat them as such? This is beyond lame. Correction, this is Mhairi lame since all three of them are like Mhairi in the sense that they're only there for the intro and you play through most of the game without them.

No, Isabela is in the same situation of Alistair with her personal quest, if you don't support her she'll leave.

It seems like your choices determine whether they stay with you or not.  I'm sure Isabela didn't have to leave if you didn't make her turn over the book.

OMG.
The demon Merill needs to see is inside of Keeper Marethari. She's an abomination.
She wants me to kill her to free Merill.
Marethari said it was the demons plan for Merill to complete the mirror so it could escape into the real world.
