DAMN. I know, I know, it's terrible that characters can seriously backstab you this time, but am I the ONLY one that is seriously loving this change?! I love that the characters don't go to Hawke for approval/input. And I love that they'll have their own agendas. I feel like we'll seriously be able to RP one intense story around this :o

I'm sure you'll be able to prevent characters from betraying you, though.

Well, betrayal is in the eye of the beholder... One might go "GOOD FOR YOU ANDERS" in this case.

do not feel concern for the foolish insects who follow the chantry's teachings. their lives were meaningless, but yours......how simple it was for Vengeance to strike a blow against his foes.Posted Image

Umm. Everyone in The Chantry. Including Her Grace.

so I assume in your playthrough Meredith does not have glowy red eyes of pure evil?

Killing all the mages? Not cool! I mean, I understand that Anders just killed a bunch of Templars, but two genocides don't make a right!

Is there no option for peace? No treaty at all?

Jennifer Hepler post on Anders thread

As a general rule, the way friendship and rivalry works, is that friendship means agreeing with and supporting the follower in what *they* want to do, no matter how crazy, illogical or dangerous to self and others. Rivalry means opposing their big cause, often for the right reasons. So it's very possible to be a better friend to someone by choosing the rivalry path, since you're trying to stop them from giving in to their own self-destructive whims. It's not always the most intuitive, but definitely don't think of friendship as doing the "right" thing and rivalry as doing the "bad" thing. It's just as likely to be the other way around.

Rivarly path for me.

I can see why some reviewers say this is a less epic game. Its not about saving the world. Its about the decisions your companions force you to make. If you don't care about the companions then the game has far less an impact.

Anders begins to float above the chantry. Anders is placed right in front of the sun his arms and legs extented.

Anders: From here on out... The world will know pain!
The chantry begins to glow.
Anders: Shinra Tensei!
Chantry blows up.

This is seriously depressing. In DA:O, you can prevent the betrayal of your companions and all would still be in your party all the way to the Archdemon battle. In DA2, it seems that one false move and a companion will start pointing weapons at you. If you side with Anders, you risk losing Sebastian/Fenris. Why so hard DA2?
