I've read both the books, I was hoping for more information in DA2. Being I jsut watched the Dalish and Flemeth video HighScoreHeroes posted.wikkedjoker wrote...
Read the books, the rabbit hole goes MUCH deeper than you think. She goes all the way back to Maric, and Logain, **** she told Maric Logain would betray him, the last time being the greatist.LilyasAvalon wrote...
Has anyone heard anything new of Flemeth? The more I read, the more I think it isn't chance, the impact Flemeth has on both the Warden and Hawke is far too... influencial to be truely just chance.
And let's face it, we already know that if the Warden survived, they are now missing. And then Hawke goes missing at the end of DA2... speculations speculations....

This. If I don't come out of this game without a reason to just throw my keyboard at the wall, I can see myself never coming back to DA. I don't want to play a game just so I feel like I got kicked in the stomach. I get that bad choices have bad consequences, but there needs to be a reward for good choices.
This is how I feel.
I don't mind the option to screw up.
But guaranteed screw-up is just too much.

Life is unfair...
Your reward is DIFFERENT but similarly 'bad' choices.

Agrring with Aesieru here. Dragon Age 2 seems to have a lot more 'you need to think about this' qualities to it. Remember how in Origins, we had to choose who would rule the dwarfs? A lot of people assumed Harrowmont the better choice, but he ended up being a weak king that died shortly after he started his rule, while the seemingly coldhearted Bhelen gave the casteless a chance, helping many of them and also regaining far more of the lost thaigs then his father or anyone before him ever seemed to.Aesieru wrote...

What we think is the 'good' choice is not always the best choice, I think that's what it was trying to say. Life isn't fair, DA2 seems to have this system down. You can't always agree with everyone... just like can't always save everyone... or garantee they won't turn their back on you.

This doesn't sound so much as 'Kaiden or Ashley die' but 'Kaiden AND Ashley die'.
I guess we won't know exactly how things unfold until someone gets a strategy guide. It sounds more complex than the ME2 suicide mission.

- Isabella is capable of betraying you and just taking off
- Anders betrays you and completely snaps, destroying the chantry and getting himself killed because of it
- It is hinted so far (To me anyway) that Fenris MIGHT betray you, completely snapping and go on a killing spree of mages
- Merrill... my theory is that there is a small possibility she could freak out about her entire clan being demons and whatnot and being influenced by a demon and the whole blood magic thing and she might snap, but due to her character, I see her rather running off in shock and fear because of it all.
That's all I got so far. It seems set in stone that neither Aveline nor Varric will leave/betray you, don't know enough about Sebastian yet to say anything, your surviving sister/brother has multiple outcomes, so this is also unknown to me.

*still is peeved about Alistair who walked out on him with his Warden Commander armour.*
Oh, Ao yes. The dwarven king bit was easily the best part in Origins. I love grey and grey choices; it was a nice reprieve from BioWare's standard pure white-pitch black / grey-pitch black moves.LilyasAvalon wrote...

That said; it's not similar. The difference being that a party member walking out on you has a huge gameplay impact. I'm not just talking about items, but you can suddenly lose the ability to play the game the way you like. That's pretty drat harsh.
That and the completionist within me can't help but be annoyed if there isn't some - preferably difficult - way to get everything right.

I know what you mean, with the sole exception of Isabella (Because it was hinted in the bloody trailer she'd betray you anyway), I have grown SO CLOSE to all these characters already, it will be difficult to watch them all kinda... vanish from your life.obnoxiousgas wrote...
Strongly suspecting that this game is going to leave me a strung-out wreck, having to resist the urge to meta-game in order to not have the most tragic ending of them all. This is not helped by the fact that a bunch of people will have finished the game by the time I get my hands on it.
I suppose that is ultimately Hawke's story though. A climb to their great political power and influence while also the decline of themselves emotionally and mentally as they watch their loved ones crumble around them.
Urgh, I feel like I'm talking silly now, maybe I should go rip an ogre in half or something. I feel like Flemeth with all this crytpic unraveling. >.<

Whelp. At least now we know why the companions have fixed armours. It's so that they won't rob you blind as they take their exits.

That doesn't sound much fun as a game, to be honest. As a film or book, maybe, but a game where there's an automatic bad ending no matter what you do?

It's a cinematic game, same concept I suppose. Anyway, I have a feeling this is how MY Hawke will turn out with all the blighted mistakes I'm going to make in my first playthrough. xDMaelora wrote...

Besides, I'm only speaking from what I've heard so far, I could be entirely wrong for all I know. xD
We may end up with everyone alive and happy and eating fairy cupcakes underneath the sugarplum rainbow..
...Urgh, that's it, I'm definately going off to kill a High Dragon now or something.
