I love the concept of it too. But why oh why did it ultimately have to be between my dear Sebastian and Anders?Malja wrote...
I love the concept of it yes. It adds a more serious undertone where you have to make a decision about those you surround yourself with on a personal level, not just an easy way out. I mean, Origins had Loghain/Alistair, but you really didn't have any means to be attached to Loghain unless you read the books. Even then, this choice is likely to have more impact than that event.

Personally, even if I romance Anders, it's really going to depend on my character's feelings towards the Chantry... Too bad I can't side with the Arishok and blow the Mages and Templars both to hell, hehe.

Well, as we should all know, if you don't take your sibling with you to the Deep Roads, they leave the group (Carver to Templars and Bethany to the Circle). If you take them, they get tainted and die. However, if Anders is with your party, you get the option to have them become Grey Wardens. Your sibling then leaves the group. The guide then lists a series of quests that you need to do by the end of the game. If you do them, your sibling will be there at the start of the final act and you can have them join you again.
As for Anders and Seb. If you don't kill Anders after the whole Chantry thing, Seb leaves. The guide says that you can't talk him out of it. So, its either Anders or Seb.
Looks like I'll be seeing Seb on my second playthrough.

Anyway, it seems that Seb is going to leave in my first playthough.

The more we hear about the chantry blowing up, the more I'm beginning to think it's unavoidable being, ya know, the whole plot and everything.SirLogical wrote...
When you say that Meredith orders the Right of Annulment on every mage in Kirkwall, can we still side with the mages and let Anders blow the chantry up, and get rid of the templars? Basically I'm asking if we let Anders blow the chantry up, can we still side with the mages and get rid of the chantry?

You decide which side supports after the Chantry blown-up

Why is this not an opition? I want to side with the Arishok damnit!RinjiRenee wrote...
It was always my guess that someone wouldn't make it with you in the end. They have made this game so much more about consequences than the others. Funny how you can somehow get everyone (but one person) to stick with you in the end, though.

I see, and I guess that's the same for that Justice quest. No details at all on what you have to do? Consequences and etc?
BTW, thanks for all this info and effort.
It basically says; Go here for first item, here for second, here for third. You go back to clinic. Then you need to distract the grand cleric for a bit and then the game heads back to the clinic. Consequences listed are a rivalry bonus for Fenris and Seb if you agree to help Anders and they are in your party. Anders will gain friendship if you help him or rivalry if you decline either at the beginning of the quest or the distraction part. The quest ends immediately if you decline.

To stick it to all those who mocked Dragon Age's replayability, maybe.

Oh yeah, it's unavoidable. It's what gets everything set in motion. It's really going to have to depend on who you choose in the end... Another Alistiar/Loghain, to the nth degree it seems like. All revolutions must start somewhere... or else nothing will change.

Also, they will rejoin you no matter what group they get recruited into and no matter whom you decide to support in the end? Or will they try to oppose you?

Well, if Seb is as chaste as everyone says he is, then then you won't have sexy time with him either!
*rim shot*
Mages vs Templars. Pick your side.

As we know of, no, not yet. So far, it sounds like you will lose at LEAST 4 of your companions, regardless.Rovay wrote...
So... Is there ANY way of keeping all your companions by the end game?
This blows my plans for Team Harem out of the water now.
Four? Klace lost Isabela, Bethany and Anders. He had Varric, Merrill, Fenris and Aveline
Well i will lose Isabela too! I'm giving the book to the Arishok. At least he can be trusted. Hopefully i can keep the rest alive...

I can understand why Varric stays with you, regardless, but why Aveline?
She has been with you from day 1, and she wouldn't have survived (or get into Kirkwall) if it weren't for Hawke.
