The Secret Companion is getting your Sibling back as a Grey Warden for the last act I believe.
I wonder if you also get them back if they join the Circle or the Templars.

Does anyone else find it mildly irritating that we basically paid for Sebastian and then we kind of get punished for bringing him along if we can't convince him otherwise with Anders? I'm all for 'realistic characters'-- but still. It makes me wonder what good he is if we have to trade a "normal" character for him ultimately.
it just means that he is fully integrated. Maybe with enough Friendship/Rivalry for both of them you have additional options. Kinda reminds me of the Branka/Caridin choice. You had to pick one thereby acting against either Oghren or Shale.
And it adds replayability. In one play you side with Anders, in the other with Seb.

Klace, how are you doing this play through? I think you said you were playing a mage? Male or female? Straight or gay?
Straight Female Mage trying to rival everyone.
I'm romancing Fenris. Wanted to see how dialogue changes if you were a Female Mage. It doesn't.

In your prior playthrough, you mentioned you had the option to sleep with Zevran. Had you romanced Zevran to end game in DAO with your warden?
I apologize if this has been asked, but I've poured through the thread and haven't found it.
*edit for spelling

I apoligize if this has been asked, but I've poured through the thread and haven't found it.
Nope. I used the default history.
My main import is on 360 but my review copy came in on PS3.

Also, is anyone else disturbed by the apparent lack of Bromance for Dragon Age II? I mean, there was potential in pretty much every recent Bioware game, Shep and Garrus, Warden and Allistair, Revan and Carth/Canderous. There doesn't seem to be any guy you can really connect with as a bro in DAII. Everyone is too morose or serious business. I find this vaguely disturbing as it completely offsets my typical Bioware party mechanic (For my main anyway). Self, Romance, Bromance, and whoever else I need to fill the gap. Now it doesn't seem as if i'll be fist pounding anyone any time soon. Alas, I lament the loss of its glory.
Lastly, a question, as fitting the spoiler thread.. How big of a role do the Grey Wardens play in DAII other than saving your siblings?

This is exactly why I didn't want them all to be bi. Instead of taking the time to write two quality homosexual romances, they're using a case of simple pronoun switching.
Klace, please keep us updated on the romance front. I'd really love for you to debunk my thorough pessimism over this.

You meet them once normally, twice if you save your sibling.

Grey Wardens play a very very very small role in this game.

Well, we know that Nate is in DA2 with some quest related to the Deep Roads from the leaked demo info. Plus, Nate could fight the final boss along with Hawke. Not a big role, but not very small.

Wow, this definitely had me put in an order for the strategy guide. I'll probably start playing it before I get the guide... but I don't want to go insane trying to juggle companions without it. ><
Arconist mentioned that the stragegy guide had a specific chapter dealing with companions and romances. I wonder how far I'll get if I covertly pick up a guide while I'm getting the game and read it in the back corner of the store like a maniac and then quietly put it back and leave.

You know i'm not really sure how I feel about the whole "No matter what you do, some of your companions will leave or perish" (not counting the siblings) sort of thing. While I understand the need to instill the whole "difficult choices" thing, I think that if i'm willing to go through the bajillion hours and duel with the Giant Flying Monkey Men of the 9th Dimension, I should be able to come out with all my companions at least marginally in tact. I'm not going to begrudge Bioware of course, they're my favorite RPG guys after all, it's just a thought.
