Ugh. It's like the developers don't understand the difference between "dark" and "ridiculously depressing". A Doctor Who reference was made earlier, and it seems to stand here. Doctor Who has "dark" moments. I mean, considering his history, his character alone is tragic. But the Torchwood spin off crossed the line from "dark" to "ridiculously depressing". It doesn't mean I won't keep watching Torchwood or I won't play Dragon Age II, but at this rate they're not going to hold the special place in my heart that their predecessor did.
The problem for me is that they talked about the importance of family. But so far it seems that Leandra will die during Act 2 (lot of hours with her probably, but I don't see the reason to kill her) and the sibling will be absent in Act 2 and could return at the end of Act 3. I don't see the reason to focus the importance of family if I start the Act 3 without any member of my family (aside uncle

Klace; ANSWER this question, AND I SHALL PLACE YOUR SIG on my banner, bwuahahahahaha!
Can you or can you not change the colors of your armors, in any way?
If so, how much, and how, in general? Fabric colors, highlights, etc?
Very well, then it appears Bioware has "fibbed" then. Tell me then, dear wise one, dost there exist a blue armor? Or perhaps silver with blue highlights?
(goes off to put the sig on banner)
You cant!!! I don't like this feature. But the armor, compensating for this. Looks quite awesome.

Hah hah, I vowed to myself to never watch Torchwood after my trio of favorites got axed. (Nevermind one of the characters had a pointless death - what were they thinking not taking precautions after WATCHING what the 456 could do? Bad writing, bad.)
I do appreciate angst and death and drama but in reasonable amounts and backed with good writing. What I've been reading on here, DA2's very close to crossing that line. I like character conflict and I like the realistic approach they seem to be taking with the companions but there's only so much I can handle.
Varric will be deserving many brofists by the end.

Klace, how can we leave Kirkwall in act 2? For Fenris's mission?
There's travel options. Kirkwall Day Kirkwall Night and Outside Kirkwall.
I get ambushed by the Slavers when I go to Sundermount with Fenris in my party for Merill's "Mirror Image" quest.

Thanks.
About the mother, how is Hawke's reaction? It's better or worse than the death of the sibling in Lothering?

This.
That's why I'm hoping that Bioware will give us ways to "lessen" the tragedies that are apparently going to happen. I know they like to call this a Dark Fantasy, but there's only so much we can take.
The fact that there are apparently 13 different endings also makes me hopeful.

Is that both friendship and rivalry or just rivaly?

Now, may I ask, is there a blue or silver and blue armor?
I admit to OCD like none other.

He left and said he just wanted to be happy for once and that he was sorry.
I didn't get an option for him to move in with me.

New Spoiler:
Leave Kirkwall in Act 2 with Fenris in your party to activate his story arc. Slaver/Sister. In this quest you can recruit an elf girl to be a servant at your home.
As a slave? Or someone who is thankful to you for saving them and stays at your home to help you?
How does Merrill react to that? I want to romance her, and this might create tension.

Is there anything in the game that indicate that you're in a romance with someone? I think at this point all you can do is try and continue to pursue it. Even the guide says that romance happens at 100 rivalry.
