It's almost painful to try and finish my awakening run, Anders is the main mage on my team, it's weird knowing in advance what will happen after this is over.

I can actually sympathize. I felt like handing him over to the templars to save the attachment from burning through me. However... I am weak, and he remains with me.

Uhm... So okay, what's the chronology of all this? My issue is, since I plan on playing a rogue first time through... Bethany will be my only mage. Clearly until I get Anders, I'll need her healing. But at some point, the sibling gets taken away. And at some point, I'll have to make Anders leave because he goes Successful!Guy Fawkes on us. So... does that mean I'm just left entirely without a healer? That would kinda suck.

Edit: Also, it's still really odd to type about "Bethany" considering it's my first name, same spelling. I'm used to seeing awful other spellings when people say the name...Watching Totalbiscuit play through the demo and hear him going "And.. Bethany getting hurt is bad..." made me go "Yes. Yes it is."

Shame, I am siding with the Mage.

Another shame I can't side with the Qunari.

@ReD BaKen9, it's up to you really.

 If your target is those companions, like I am, then your line up will be different.

 My mage Warden progress the most so far (completed Origin, Awakenings, and GoA), so I will use that.

 Then I might tried the Dalish one as it was the only one Alistair wasn't King and traveled with the Warden.

 After that, I might tried the Cousland, as her level was the highest and the most powerful.

I know what you mean.  It's weird to go back to Awakening now.

LOL... with Meredith/Orsino situation...it does sound a bit more plausible ether way actually...

Though I can say in my mage playthrough(which I will only do one of)... that I will side with mages. That is all I can say for now, it kinda depends on what I do with Bethany( and who my LI in that play through) in my others that will determine how I side with things beyond that( since apparently she( or Carver) can return to help you in the final battle.

There is also a trophy/achievement assocciated with siding with the templars or mages....so there is that bonus, though it's one I may just ignore as well( as on the ps3 that action negates you from gaining the platinum trophy as well)...

Oh and is there anything invovling the  architect like if u (SPOILER) kill him or if u dont? Is he seen or mentioned in DA2?

Guys let me get this straight...

If you take Carver/Bethany to DeepRoads they die front taint unless Anders/Nathaniel is there. And if they are with you instead of at home guarding Moma Hawke she gets killed?

But if Carver/Bethany stay to guard Moma Hawke Carver goes to Templars and Bethany gets yoinked to Circle?

I think you'll always side with the mages if you like Bethany. I mean, if she is taken to the Circle, and you side with Meredith in the Annulment, the Templars will  kill your sister.

Yeah, they both seem to have a hefty amount of crazy on either side. Still, I'm more likely to side with the Templars than the mages, even on my mage playthroughs for reasons that generally get me crap on the forums. With my first run, my warrior Lady Hawke, I'll definitely be siding with the Templars. Not only that, but Anders is going to end up with a kniff in the back because what he did was completely off-base and ridiculous. And because she's going to be romancing Sebastian.

Still, I really like how Meredith is shaping up. Even if she is a total psychopath, she looks like a fantasic character. Her VA is so on point it had me gaping at the screen. Got goosebumps, too.

I'm siding against the templars on almost playthrough, probably. There's just no possible way I can acquiesce to the demands of the templars to slaughter all mages that could potentially encompass men, women, mothers, fathers, and children who all possess talents they were born with.

That aside, I'm worried about Anders' potential status as a Depraved Bisexual. >_<

Yes, which is why I will most likely always take her AND Anders to the deep roads with me....so that effect is never in play. 

*should also mention he will have the strategy guide, so dealing with these situations will be alot easier in his case* 

@ Calla... I understand where you are coming from...and you won't get any flack from me on that. I'm playing a male warrior Hawke to start things off...it's gonna be a odd situation for me as well. Though fortunately since my romance is Merrill... I'm not making that very choice at the end( not to mention I like Sebastion...while I'm indifferent to Anders[which was also my opinion of Loghain for arguments sake] ),

I'd do the former first and then Fenris after. I'd rather leave off with something more civil versus feeling deeply uncomfortable hahah.
