Can we kick Anders out of the party and keep Sebastian, or is it necessary to kill him?

Not sure.  I'm hoping so.  I'd hate that killing him would be the only way to calm Sebastian down.  I can understand his anger, but still.  I think the guy with the guide implied that you have to choose to keep Anders to get Sebastian to leave, so I guess that means killing him/letting him go would let you keep Sebastian.  He might not be too happy but there you go.

Hey, guys, just so you know, I am up and rearranging the summary at the moment. The new one will update at page 260, or somewhere near as soon as I got it done.

There are some spoilers for Fenris, mostly involving his past and real name.  As for Seb -- we know nothing because even though someone got their hands on a copy of the game, Seb is not set for release until tomorrow, or whenever the DA2 release date is in your neck of the woods.  Essentially, he's off limits right now.

Good grief, traffic must have been super heavy last night. The feckin' servers booted me and I couldn't get back on to any of the boards. Poor Klace. :(

After watching the vid last night, I think my rogue will dagger-stab Anders, and my mage will snarlingly defend him and slaughter all who try to hurt him.

What would actually be kind of fun: if you make a decision in the end game that one/some of your companions are vehemently against-- you have to battle them. I'm sure no such thing will happen, but it would increase the level of bittersweet betrayal.

I had also forgotten about the whispering voice and quick flash of desire demon in the Sebastian trailer. He just got a whole lot more interesting.

Only 9 more hours to wait....B)

for those who have played DA2, what's Merrill's reaction to Anders blowing up the Chantry?

does she support it? is she appalled by it?

would she support Hawke if he sided with the Templars afterwards?

She expresses she doesn't want to see the Circle punished for what Anders did, but all companions at certain rivalry/friendship will stand by your decision no matter what.  Except for Seb, if you choose to keep Anders.

thanks.

so Merrill doesn't really condone/support Anders' actions.  She's just more concerned with the Mages in the Circle.

That being said, if you side with the Templars, does that mean that all the mages in Kirkwall will be killed?

What happens if you side with the Mages?  All the Templars will be killed?

No, if you sides with mages the templars will not be killed, at least not all of them. I don't know what happens in the other case.

Merrill will support whatever Hawke chooses, granted that you have her rivalry/friendship high enough, that is for certain.

If you side with the Templars, you rush into the Circle killing Mages I suppose, and when you get to Orsino, he turns into a Harvester and then you must fight him.  Then Meredith will turn on you and you must kill her as well.

If you side with the Mages, you fight some Templars at the beginning, then I guess you rush to the Circle to fight.  When you get up to Orsino, he turns into a Harvester and you fight him.  Then you confront Meredith... and as far as we know, the Templars don't interfere.  It might be a different story if you make different decisions -- we don't know at this point.

So, what all do we learn about Flemeth in this game? Is the scene during that ritual with the amulet her last appearance/mention?

but no real biggies unlike the other 3 romances? such as Izzy vs Qun, Anders blowing up chantry or Merril destroying her clan? or i guess i should say hard choices, he is just along for the "ride" so to speak (no puns intended)?

Fenris is capable of killing his sister.  Also, I'm not sure what happens in his crisis situations.  The person who played the game was very attached to him and might have kept him from doing off the wall things.

We can prevent Anders from blowing up the Chantry, right?

I thought it was said we could stop him from placing the bomb somehow.

No, it always happens.  We can just tell him we don't want anything to do with his plan (which he apparently says he's trying to separate Justice from himself instead of trying to bomb the chantry).  He still carries it out.

Someone reading the guide said it was not a companion quest, but a main quest.  So it'd have to be unavoidable.  It's all triggered by the death of an innocent mage, I think.   I don't know if Anders states this or if we watch it happen.  Klace would know... but alas.

Alas, indeed. I thought there was the tiniest sliver of hope that some version of Anders wouldn't do it. Hopefull he doesn't try to trick you into helping if you have him at max rivalry.

I have a feeling that he always will trick you... and not going to lie, it's going to hurt like hell. I really want to explore the dialogue options at that point.  I could forgive him for the lie if he apologized and explained himself... which he kind of does, albeit in the middle of his important speech making.

LOL... does it make me a horrible person that I'm more upset about a lie than his actions against the system?  Maybe...

Are we SURE that Sebastian will leave no matter what? Just keep him out of the party when Anders goes cray-cray.

I don't think it'll be avoidable. Just like Alistair confronting you about your decisions in Redcliffe castle.
