So you caught the saddness, too?  When he momentarily let Justice come forth, then almost seemed to blink him away... I caught a lot of emotion in that moment.

Happiness will be in the eye of the beholder, really.  Given the circumstances going on in the world though... there's just no way.  To me, I'm glad that a change has been forced upon the world, because it was just a miserable mess before.  But change is hard... so very, very hard.

@dreamextractor: Oddly enough, that's been labeled as Varric's theme, not Anders'.  But it is appropriate, I think.

Well, actually, I don't think Morrigan was even referring to Anders specifically.  But at that point, Morrigan would have found out about her mother's revival -- and probably knew that Flemeth was dabbling in the events... setting everything in motion, if you will.  After all, if Hawke had never made it to Kirkwall, things wouldn't have happened as they did.  And boy, look what DID happen!  I'm also sure that Flemeth is going to use this war to her own benefit somehow...

Apparently you go into the fade with her and there's a demon that affects her.

What i want ot know is if anyone knows how this is settled in a good way.
Apparently many say she'll become an abomination and you have to slay her, but how are you supposed to romance her and have a good ending if this is the scenario? Even for players who tried to romance her?

I have to bump this, but i guess what i really want to know is how you're supposed to help Merrill in the fade so you can keep her for a full romance.
Are you supposed to keep her from siding with the demon by having a high friend/rivalry level with her, or do you not kill her so you can save her later by killing Marethari or something?


I would be quite pissed to begin a romance just to have to kill her i tears later.

I like to imagine that the Warden showed up and whisked Hawke away to the Retirement Home for Awesome Heroes.  It may be called a 'retirement home', but I assure you that there is nothing but partying going on there.  The Warden and Hawke can hang out with Revan and trade war stories.  It's a secret because normal people are not sexy enough to hang out with them.

Ah, thank you then. I had finished my DA:O run last night, my xbox ate my previous saves, and imported that into Awakenings...which I only got an hour into. Then I get the e-mail at work that my Game shipped and will be here tommorow...I guess I am saved from binge gaming then, for the moment

Way back on 212 and again on 223 Claymation said she was never kidnapped from him and he was in act 2.  He Carver at home and carver joined the templars but Leandra was never kidnapped.

Yeah, I think I've heard this somewhere too. It's apparently only possible to 'save' either your mother or your sibling.

If you leave your sibling behind, they join the templars/get sent to the circle and Leandra is never kidnapped, if you take them with you, regardless of what happens to your sibling, Leandra is kidnapped.

ok.....if you leave them behind then you save both not one or the other. Carver willingly joins the templars and I am certain Bethany would have no problem being in the circle if it keeps her mother alive.

If I remember correctly, I don't think she becomes an abomination. She just makes a deal with the demon, or something like that. You have the choice to tell her to do it or to not do it. But whatever you tell her, she does it anyway. And she stays in the party regardless of what you tell her, but if you tell her not to do it, you get rivalry points.

But I'm pretty sure you don't have to kill her or anything since Klace said she was still in the party at the end of his game. I also think he said you could avoid the fade demon thing altogether by not even taking her with you to the fade.

I might be entirely wrong. But I don't remember which page that info was posted on. I'll try to find it again.

Edit: Eh.  I can't really find what I was looking for exactly. But you don't kill Merrill, or you don't have to if there is the option to kill her anyway. Apparently killing Marethari (which seems to be unavoidable) sets Merrill free from the demon. I'm assuming that means sets her free from the deal she made with the demon because Klace said Merrill doesn't become possessed.

I hope Leandra´s fate doesn´t depend on leaving the sibling at home. That feels more like random chance than choice and consequence. From some spoilers it also seems Hawke is a supporting character to the companions a good part of the game.
