I think you can do a romance regardless of if you do rival/friendship, as long as you get to the higher levels of one or the other. Though in the last gameplay thingy they did on Saturday, they did say that you'd have to navigate carefully with the rival romance to make it work? Or something.

I want to find out because she's the only LI thats interested me in DA2

so.......just to clarify about the Friendship/Rivalry thing................

Rivalry does NOT mean adopting a jerky, antagonistic tone towards the companion.

It means disagreeing with them. But, you'll disagree with them in a firm, but loving manner, if you are in a romance with that companion.

Is that a correct way of looking at it?

I'm trying to decide how I want to romance Merrill. I want Hawke to lover her and her to love Hawke. But, I don't want a relationship filled with hate or jerky responses nor do I want her to abandon Hawke in the end...........

My first playthrough (starting tonight, *squee*) will be a female Rogue. My second character will be a fem Mage. I plan to have my mage romance Anders, and my rogue will romance either Sebastian or Fenris. Whichever steals her heart first.

In the demo I liked the rogue skills, and the mage has amazing powers. I thought the warrior sucked though, and I always play as a warrior first, but not this time. Maybe the full game will be different? I hope so anyway.

Only 4 hours to go.

Keep me informed! I also thought I would do a second run as the mage!

I got that problem a week ago. They refuse to believe whatever info I gave them about Fenris.......

If I had remembered I had spring break this week, I would've gotten my game from GameStop so I could've gotten it at midnight (if the stores around here are even doing it). Alas, I (probably) still have another 18 hours or so before the game is delivered to my house.
