It can understand how Leli being a Seeker may upset some people given the prevalence of the, IMHO, overly simplestic world view of "Mages=good, Chantry= bad" but it makes perfect sense given her character.

I think it maybe be like Alistair. That her appareance in DA2 change based on the action taken in DAO. My hardened Leliana has no reason to rejoin the Chantry.

It's not for this, at elast for me. It's because Leliana changed (or I suppose she changed) when I hardened her. For this I see no reason for her re-joining the Chantry.
It's related to the mage-chantry war for me only becuase I decide to side with the mages in my first playthrough, but I don't hate the Chantry. I'll side with both in different playthroughs.

At least Leliana looks good, but if she's a Seeker I wonder how that happened. I hardened Leliana in most of my playthroughs, so I hope it won't be retconned.

I forgot about that. Thoug in my main DAO-DAA playthrough I romanced Morrigan, so I didn't have that letter.
The thing that I don't understand is that she's with Cassandra. I don't understan how we meet here, unless Cassandra is in Kirkwall in one of the main acts.

It does seem relatively plausible at this point...so, this is something we will probadly definetely need to play to find out...
