Summary



1. Zevran appeared in one of the Sundermount quest. His screenie
2. Nathaniel appeared in one of the Deep Road quest.
3. Leliana appeared in one of the Basti quest. Possible Leliana
4. Fenris live in what possibly his former master's mansion (next door to Hawk's), Merill in Alienage, Anders in his clinic, Isabela and Varric, not certain about Aveline or Basti
5. There is a cap on levels, though I got very confused about the numbers.
6. Bethany has three endings: Join the Circle, Died in the Deep Road, or Join the GW (?)
7. Carver has three endings: Join the Templar, Died in the DR, or Join the GW.
8. The talking darkspawn Disciple appeared in the DR.
9. There is something about Meredith's eyes.
10. Meredith is one of the final boss.
11. Defeating Meredith is one of the secret achievement.
12. Some dialogue by Hawk's mother hinted she was not aware of whatever Hawk's relationship was in.
13. Hawk was in Kirkwall when the news of the Blight was finished by the Warden reached him/her.

14. Fenris' former Tevinter Magister Master's name is Danarius.
15. A quick look at the erf files hints that these are some of the gifts for the companions. Take this as extreme speculation:

Anders: Key + an amulet
Aveline: Shield
Fenris: Book + a sword
Isabela: Ship?! + a talisman
Merrill: Halla?! + a ring
Sebastian: Bow

How to access the file from the demo: Program Files>Dragon Age 2 Demo>modules>campaign_base>data>designerplots in wordpad/notepad and search "gift".

I'm surprised no one has posted the codex entries from the demo about Hawke's family. It's really interesting.

Hawke's father's name is Malcolm Hawke. He died three years before the events of DA2. Carver was in King Cailan's regiment at Ostagar, but returned a month later to his family, injured and warning them of the horde that would soon be upon them. There's more, but that's the stuff I found interesting.

Oh trust me i have faith, its just i think it would be very stupid if Bioware would do that. Just about every trailer Mike Laidlaw was in he kept saying they wanted Hawke to have a background not just some hero who washed up on the beach. How do they intend to do that if all we have in then end is Leandra lol.

I think losing the other sibling is a perfect way to showcase the fact that Hawke is not just some hero who washed up on the beach. There will be meaningful consequences for how your sibling turns out.

Not so much lazy as groan-inducing writing.
Take the sibling that get's Ogre-smashed. I get the what they're going for; to show the character of Hawke suffering loss, etc. But that moment fals flat as the player just met said sibling barely a minute ago.

As for the other sibling. We off course don't know the whole story yet, just random bits and pieces. That makes it somewhat hard to judge it, naturally That said, if this is going to be a delayed Mhairi then I doubt anything will else in that moment will ovvercome the annoyance of me, the player, having a lost a gameplay asset.
That and making the videogame character suffer los in your story is very tricky and usually fails due to gameplay mechanics.
Final Fantasy  "Erm, guys, we got 10 phoenix downs. Anyone going to use one on poor Aeris?"
NWN2: "Never fear, Shandra. I've got 4 resurrection prepared. ... not going to let me use them, huh?"
DA2's Ogre Smah: Don't worry, mother. He'll be fine after combat, he'll just have a random wound. ... Oh, right. That was cutscene; gameplay mechanics don't work in cutscenes."

Who knows. Maybe we'll be surprised. Maybe we're complete wrong in what we know so far. I'm optimistic... against my better judgement.

I think D.G said that we shouldn't judge Zev's new look by one screenshot alone, where he was caught in mid-expression...so they screenshot is real but he's not really as ugly as he looks there.
