The amulet is an ancient elven artifact that allows the binding of spirits. Flemeth gave her soul to the amulet. (This is why she is weak enough for the Warden to kill in part 1. I had read somewhere (a while back, I don't remember where this was from) that Flemeth wanted the Old God Baby so that she could possess it later on it it's life... Using it for some purpose... And her end goal is to somehow break into the Golden/Black City... I don't know how much of that I believe. Maybe someone else read what I read and can explain it better.

I have read that somewhere too, but I have so much conjecture spinning in my head from different threads, I can't remember where. Sorry.

She reminds me more of Palpatine since her first scene when she implies Ser Jory is going to die. She also seems to have prescience and use it to prepare her plans.

Either way, although I don't have an opinion on the whole "Flemeth wants to oppress all mages and control Meredith" I rather think that being the Chantry head of the Free Marches (not even a real country) wouldn't be too high of a power in the world.

Rather, I think the amulet (like the robes which she would have used on Morrigan) will let her control people (I believe this to be true,) and that after she tries and fails to control the Dalish Pariah (who becomes an abomination according to game code) she will be taking over MageHawke or Bethany/Merill.

This fits in a couple ways, Bethany (again according to demo crack) might die even if you are a warrior, and one way for her to die is for you to kill her if Flemeth is possessing her. Apparently there was also a blacked out Mage skill tree which could be the one referred to by the 4chan poster.

Man, I can't wait for this game. Also, please ban me from this thread.

I'm guessing the secret companion will either be Orsino (if you side with the Mages) or some form of Flemeth if you side with the templars. Also, could be Cassandra after she realizes Meredith (again I'm assuming spoilers are true) used blood magic.

Who is to say that Meredith was killed before Varric's interrogation?
