Openning a can of worms here, but let's see how long it lasts.

So what do you think is Cerberus' policy on gays (specifically, male homosexuals)?

We sure know that the organization employs many, er... non-liberal individuals. But at the same time "the ends justify the means" stance should preclude TIM from passing up a good "operative material" if he sees one, just because of sexual orientation (same as he doesn't shy away from working with aliens when necessary). However, openly employing gays alongside all the conservative folks would create some unwanted tension, in the very least.

Anyway, the POLL.

...why do you ask, since we have absolutely no information one way or the other?

EDIT: Actually, we do.  Kelly is clearly bisexual, and that apparently isn't a problem for her Cerberus employment.

and pro-human TIM bangs asari , I'm more curious how the very anti-alien portion of his organisation would feel about that

Because we can always use that gray substance in our heads to make conjectures about what we aren't being told directly.

I was more of a thinking about male homosexuals exclusively, since lesbians and bisexual females are generally considered less of a problem.

I can't argue with that, ME is proof.

I doubt they care.
Though, if they did have a policy against openly gay/bisexual members, as if I needed more reason to dislike Cerberus.

I don't think they have a problem with it, this is the future after all and the trend is that people are becoming more and more accepting at least in western civilization so by then I don't think being gay is a big deal

TIM is interested in advancing the human agenda, not a religious one (which is where most homophobia stems from).

Anyways, in before the religious arguments and inevitable lock.

I think that contact with alien species puts these sorts of issues into their proper perspective. It would be as comical as racism, at this point.

In the future, I can't imagine GLBT relationships having any issues. It reminds me of the Midnighter comic where he goes into the future (he's a gay superhero, basically), and asks a woman in the future about gay relationships. She seems shocked, not because he's gay, but because he only limits himself to men. She explains they're all omni-sexual in the future. ;)

I completely disagree with you about what you put in parentheses, but I agree that it is not likely a concern of TIM.

Off-Topic: Does anyone else by now think of him verbally as "Tim," as a result of seeing The Illusive Man acronym-ized?

Since he doesn't have a problem employing criminals, racists, killers, drug addicts, and probably jay walkers, I would find it very odd if he didn't employ homosexual people simply because they were homosexual.

I think TIM is all about the results, and doesn't really care what his operatives get up to in their personal lives so long as they are functional and effecient. He tolerates Grayson's Red Sand use, for example. And he's worked with aliens even though Cerberus is a human supremacist organization.

Why does this thread even exist? Why is this even an issue other than to be needlessly controvertial?

Cerberus project policy is "Don´t know, don´t care".

Whos smart idea was it to build double-sized obsolete Normandy, anyway? First thing you have to do with your new spaceship is to upgrade it...

Does anyone know any Cerberus project that does not end to a disaster?

I don't see why they'd care and considering when this is all set I doubt it is even much of an issue.

I think an even more loaded question is whether or not homosexuality is screened out before birth.

Bioware seems to be pretty pro- lesbian relationships with the asari and what not. Tali was supposed to be a bisexual romance option earlier.
I think that's mainly because they know how to get straight males to buy their games lol.

But yeah when I come to think of it it is interesting how lacking ME is in gay (malemale) relationships. I was so busy praising Bioware for being so liberal in my head that it totally slipped my mind.

I don't know about Cerberus, but the entire game has no gay male relationships. At all. As far as I can tell. There's not even any mention of it.

There you go, Bioware knows what straight guys want. :| Which is a bit discriminatory towards gay players.

Ok my ramble is over... I'm just amazed that I never noticed this.

Considering all cerberus cells combined is only like 120 people?(I dont remember the exact number) There is quite big chance there arent any homosexuals there at all.

Most of them, actually.

Not people. Operatives. that figure clearly does not involve support crews, specialists and commandos. The Derelict Reaper team alone totalled around 100 people.

Cerberus's people are only readily discarded tools. They wouldn't care.

No, as of this moment, 56% of the voters think Cerberus is inept and 44% think it's evil.

This, BTW, well correlates with the "Gay policy" poll, where currently, even if we eliminate the extreme (and unsound) options, 62.5% of people think that Cerberus is inept (doesn't have a policy on gays) and 37.5% think that Cerberus is evil (has a policy on gays).

Tools cost money. Nobody throws them away without a good reason.

May have something to do with the both option accidentally missing.
