It's 2185. At this point, I think most professionally-minded people would have stopped caring.

Honsetly, Zulu, this is stupid.  Even for you.  You are trolling too hard.

This. seriously, I doubt anyone in the 22'nd century will give a rat's ass.

You guys truly believe that people won't hate on minorities/weaker groups 200 years from now?

That's... really nice, actually. Posted Image

I'm sure we'll have found someone new to hate on by than.

Don't care about this, that or them. Whatever those are. As long as you care, you hate.

Why would you want them to?

I can't see why they would care, they are having a difficult enough time already finding supporters, they are hardly a large organisation.

That's not true. The major factor limiting the grouth is not the lack of supporters, but the ultra-high standards for recruitment. Cerberus it's not exaclty a retail chain.

Well yeah, but the standards are more likely to be based upon ability and attitude, not who you decide to take to bed.

"So... you are extremely capable both physically and mentally, you support our ideals and show an unshakable faith in the leadership of the Illusive Man. Oh... what's this? So it seems you don't like women eh? Sorry, but you are not the type of person we are looking for."

Somehow I think not.

BTW, if the aversion to homosexuality
wasn't natural, where would it have come from to culture and religion? I
mean, it's not like the Pope called his most trusted cardinals and
said: "Yesterday I've got an e-mail from the Boss and He wants us to
hate gays from now on. Pass the word to the flock."

Aversion to promiscuity, alcohol and sex outside of marriage is also prevalent in both culture and religion. None of those aversions are natural either considering all of them are extremely common.

Seriously, this trolling is actually more annoying than the morons who don't put any effort into it.

Taking a dump is also extremely common, yet the aversion to it ranges from mild confusion to physical inability to perform the act if one is being watched in the process.

Somehow I think the "Don't ask - don't tell" policy precludes the recruiters from collecting that kind of information about the candidates. All that is required in exchange is that the successful candidates would not brag around that they are not like everyone else.

It's Cerberus. They have they're hands full hating aliens. Plus, they have the blind eye on relationships (Jacob said so). And I didn't see any signing bonus for gays when I signed my contract (Im not gay btw).

It is also not a natural aversion, it is cultural.

For the record, "don't ask, don't tell" is a policy that dictates that anyone who is openly gay cannot serve.

No wonder there is no M/M for Maleshep. Cerberus would have kicked his ass to the curb the minute he stepped into Minute Man Station to see TIM.

Is that so, huh? BTW, where is the border between "cultural" and "natural", to start with?

This might have something to do with the fact, that in course of your duty no situation can present itself that may require you to designate your sexual orientation, gay or otherwise.

For the record: you can't have a long shaggy hair in the service too, you know, so I suppose it's discrimination against the hippies!

It is also an American policy, I cannot speak for other countries, but it would be illegal for something like that to exist in England.

Technically, now it's illegal in America too.

Cultural = Based upon conscious thought, and what the majority decides consciously.
Natural = Instinct.

If you kill someone who breaks into your house, you would have likely done so out of an instinctive reaction to save your own life.

That doesn't mean people won't look at you badly for doing it, even if they'd do it themselves in that situation.

What is culturally acceptable changes all the time, instincts do not. Peadophilia has always existed, it hasn't always been looked down upon though, it was quite common in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.

Indeed. I heard it was a policy something President Obama strongly opposed. It's nice to know that an open minded man is in charge of the country now.

No, Zulu.  It means that, if someone knew you were gay, you couldn't serve.  For example, if you got a letter from your partner from home, and somebody noticed your partner was the same gender, you were out.  In other words, you were forced to keep your orientation a secret if you wanted to serve your country.  Meanwhile, all the straight boys are bragging about their wives in the barracks.

For the record: you can't have a long shaggy hair in the service too, you know, so I suppose it's discrimination against the hippies!

Hygiene.

A few minor issues here and there made me facepalm.  Won't discuss since this thread's getting too political already.

That and it's along the same lines as "oh, you silly b*tch!"  As in, an insult that's not meant to be taken for full meaning and is more playful than anything else.
