Aversion to promiscuity, alcohol and sex outside of marriage is also prevalent in both culture and religion. None of those aversions are natural either considering all of them are extremely common.

Taking a dump is also extremely common, yet the aversion to it ranges from mild confusion to physical inability to perform the act if one is being watched in the process.

It is also not a natural aversion, it is cultural.

Is that so, huh? BTW, where is the border between "cultural" and "natural", to start with?

Natural = Instinct.

Then you've just disproved yourself. Since one can't decide  to have a mild confusion about something, or hate somebody, it's all got to be instinct-based, and, in your terms, natural.

... Of course you can decide. That's why peoples opinions can change. Conscious thought is based upon knowledge or the lack of, instinct is based purely upon your "gut".

No, Zulu.  It means that, if someone knew you were gay, you couldn't serve.  For example, if you got a letter from your partner from home, and somebody noticed your partner was the same gender, you were out.  In other words, you were forced to keep your orientation a secret if you wanted to serve your country.  Meanwhile, all the straight boys are bragging about their wives in the barracks.

Because, let's face it, many straight boys don't feel that secure serving their country around gays. And they aren't really going to care that the congressmen need support from the minorties during elections.

Well, the reinforcement of conformity, too--they don't want any one person to stick out or be an individual.  So yeah, fascism just a touch.  But mostly hygiene.  It's not like you'll find a barber shop in the middle of the desert.

If you hate somebody, you can't decide to "un-hate" him. You can only decide to act as if you don't hate him. That doesn't remove the hate from the picture, only covers it with a thin layer of hypocrisy.

You say that like a gay man can't protect himself, as if somehow being gay implies you're a sissy.  You're saying it like the army wouldn't take steps to prevent those sorts of beatings from happening or punish those responsible.

Besides, joining the army implies you are willing to get yourself killed.

You say it like the Army has nothing better to do than to take steps to prevent the sort of things that used to be better prevented under the previous policy. The Army exists to kick bad guys' arses, not to fulfill somebody's desire to excersise as much rights as they feel entitled to excersise. The service isn't a picnic as it is, so why is it so necessary to create reasons for the servicemen to have additional interpersonal conflicts, that would diminish the efficiency even if prevented from becoming violent? (That applies to Cerberus as well).

Saying black isn't racist. I'm not white btw...not that it matters.  You got issues if you think that word is offensive. It's a damn color...He also said white boys so I don't get the racism in that comment. You are acting quite childish and seem to live in an issolated little bubble.  I do got to admit it was stupid of him to compare the two as we are all the same species and "race" was invented to drive us apart...both culturally and emotionally.
