Nathanial: Do you always wear those robes, Mage?
Anders: *suggestively* Not when I'm naked I don't.
^^ The banter that launched a thousand slash fics. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean others who did are wrong.
Yep, straight as an arrow, that one.
If that's the line you're talking about, that didnt sound "bi" to me. It sounds, to me, like Anders being his typical, snarky self.
The bolded part. And here we have the point I'm making. It did sound open to that interpretation to many others though. Because that interpretation was made by so many people independently, it's fair to say it's not out of the realm of possibility. You could be right, sure. But so could we. Your feeling about him is not the same as objective fact about his sexuality. That's all.
If it is the case, aside from said reasons before, I'll probably be keeping my char(s) single due to the fact that BW doesnt know how to do subtle in that regard. Zevran is a perfect example of this in origins. As a male player, you literally have to be extremely careful with the dialog choices you make with him otherwise he ends up blatantly throwing himself at you. And by blatant I mean literally looking at my character and telling me how "handsome" I am etc.
From there, if you did anything other than accept his affections, you usually ended up with -10 or something like that to his approval rating. At least, of all the options I tried he always ended up with a minus of some sort. And I seriously doubt that DA2 will be any better in that regard if they are, in fact, all Bi. Because if you end up selecting something that you'd normally think is a "friendly" kind of statement, and he ends up wanting to get into your pants because of it, that'd really just leave a really bad taste in my mouth on the whole experience so to speak.

As for the Anders thing, it has never been indicated that he was stright, if they ccame out know and said he is exclusivly homosexual then there would be an inconsistency. In reality there are plenty of people who think they are completly hetro or ****** exclusivly untill they meet that one special somone.
Plus I can tell you that when talking in generalitys, like Anders was when he made the 'pretty girl' coment, it gets awkward to constently go 'girl or boy' 'he or she' ,'him or her', I always just pick one and go with it.

There is only one sexual orientation in Dragon Age 2, and that's Hawkesexual.

Actually, the devs cited Zevran as the perfect example of something they're trying to AVOID this time around. That whole "accidentally flirting" thing was all too common, and they have fixed it two-fold in DA2:
1. The dialogue and characters themselves are written in a way that should make it more obvious what's happening, and people shouldn't be throwing themselves on you.
2. The new dialogue wheel has that icon in the center to tell you what tone/action you are taking. They said specifically that unless you see the "Flirt" symbol (which is probably a heart or something), then you have nothing to worry about.

That actually makes me feel a little bit better about it. Not much, but a little at least.

Quoting for posterity.
Although unfortunately, even someone's real life experiences aren't enough to convince some people that this is actually a valid approach.
Anyway, enough of this back and forth.

I agree with the back and fort statement. Both sides are rooted in their opinions on the topic. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth though and makes the whole thing seem nothing more than fanservice doing things this way.
*shrugs* Oh well, seems like, for me, the only LI Garret is going to have at any point is combat lol.

@Aradace Good job the romances are meant to be optional then, hey hun?
Indeed lol....To basically turn this "negative" into a "positive" Im looking at it this way: At least now I can pay more attention to side quests and the decisions I make in those regards, instead of wasting my time wondering if Im saying the "right thing" to this party member in order to progress the relationship lol.
@Elirian - That's actually the picture that came into mind for me in ME2 when Shep was looking at the pic of his ME1 LI lol.

This has nothing to do with anything other than curiosity, and my small suspicion that the men are leaning towards 'not all bi'. Either through pragmatism or whatever else.
Me, I'd probably crack out the pop corn and some beer if ManHawke and Fenris could get it on.

I'm kind of confused. Let's assume for a second you had intended to hook up with, say, Merrill. If you found out that it was possible for a woman to have seduced her too, you would lose interest? Just because on a different playthrough, with a different gender, you could have similar results?
Are you worried they're all going to be all Zevran/Isabella with very loose and in-your-face sexual ambiguity? I mean, Leliana was bi, too, and she never "flaunted" it. She was an option for either gender, but as a female Warden, it took a little more convincing. Her availability to potential female wardens did not stop my male warden from falling for her.
I'm not trying to rag on you, I'm just genuinely curious about the thought process here.
