Judging by the game files, that definitely seems to be true. I would blame EA (I tend to blame them for everything, including the potholes in my street), but ME1 was Micro$oft Game $tudios.Maelora wrote...

Except that with Bioware's definition of male bisexuality we get that anyway as the bisexual male will continously remark on his fascination with the other sex even while you are persuing a same sex relationship, though in all honesty that has more to do with Biowares writing than anything else.
Yet they likely do that so that strictly straight players (who are not put off by metagame knowledge) will never have to feel uncomfortable with any character because you have to go to arduous lengths to get them to admit to wanting to experiment with you, whereas they will likely intiate the flirtation on their own when it comes to the straight relationship.

Despite having it already explained to me, I cant help but still feel apprehensive toward the whole idea due to Zevran in Origins. The Zevran experience reallllllllllly burned me on the whole idea. They would have to execute this "perfectly" for me to be ok with it. And by perfect, I mean the ONLY way that it is even hinted at that the character is bi in any way, is if you happen to be talking to said party member of same gender, and you specifically, and deliberately go out of your way to, (incoming pun) probe for that information. Meaning if said character divulges that part of their sexuality to me without my specific asking for it, then that is a no-go. As I said, I'll still have them in my party because they'll be useful regardless. Im just very paranoid of the whole thing with zevran happening all over again.

What's intersting is that s/s romances for Kaiden and Ashley were recorded, and the Ashley one was even rendered. They're still in the game files, and you can see them on YouTube.
Then removed before the game was completed.

Yep. I used Gibbed to romance Miranda in ME2 (you need to swap to Male for two conversations). When I then played Lair of the Shadow Broker, my FemShep had Miranda-romance dialogue wih Liara.

Justice was a spirit who was corrupted into a demonic presence, Vengeance, when he possessed Anders.
But regardless, whether he was still a spirit or not, the idea that possession leads to bisexuality or homosexuality is a very, very dangerous tack to take.

I don't doubt it would happen, But i would hate if they did as it is a complete Copout.
Anders Sexuality was openly expressed by him often. He never gave any indication to being Bi/gay and had no reason to hide due to the dragon age World being completley accepting of homosexuality. He never hit on Nathaniel, But hit on just about every female party member including the warden if female(I think)
Why not just go back and make allistar Bi? why not make everyone Bi and just say they were in the cloest? This Cheapens their character because in it's basic form it's a redesign of their charater.

Smart, sensitive, quotes Blaise Pascal? My gaydar was definitely tingling!
Had the same vibe from Ash too, the whole 'butch soldier girl' thing. I felt she was checking out my LipstickShep and was surprised she never tried it on with me the way Liara did.

But back on point...
The issue to me has always been numbers. In DA:O, Straight males get 2 choices: Morrigan or Leliana. Straight females get 2 choices: Alistair or Zevran. Gay males get 1 choice: Zevran. Gay females get 1 choice: Leliana. That's unfair, and it's always bothered me. I'm straight, personally, but that doesn't mean I'm blind to inequality.

There's no point re-opening the can of worms that is the 'Anders is straight/no he isn't' debate. Both sides have made their points clear enough in this thread enough times and in others. I suggest reading back for alternate views on the subject and then leaving it at that. Since the matter is one of subjective interpretation, it will not be resolved based on the 'evidence' we have at this point in time.
There is the point in Reopening it.

I've been out with soldier girls. Lipsticks and chapsticks both. Ash definitely has that vibe, trust me.
Bioware evidently believed it too, as they had Jen Hale voice the scene, and rendered the scene also.
Funny that they cut it before production...

By making every romance option Availble for everybody you'd be removing a part of this.
If you want to add more Characters as Romance options for Gay/bi then go ahead i fully support that. But just don't make everyone Bi in the name of fairness. Because by making choices fair you no longer make them tough, or worse hardly even make them choices.

To that defense, it is very possible that BW was basing the Alliance off of america's US Marines, or any branch of the US military. To which Im referring to the "dont ask, dont tell" policy. In a nutshell, if you were "outted" in the military, you were almost guaranteed to be "discharged" shortly after.

Actually, the first time I played Awakenings, I kept expecting Anders to come out of the closet. It felt TOO overt. Every guy I've ever met who acted like that was either 12 years old or secretly (or unknowingly) gay.

Dragon age world has no problem with ****** sexuality. If i Reference wanting to make out with women too often does that make me in the closest?

I can get behind that. Maybe instead of 4 romance options, there should be 6:
1 straight male, 1 gay male, 1 bisexual male, 1 straight female, 1 gay female, 1 bisexual female
Everyone gets 2 options, and everyone is happy.
