This has bothered me. Tons of straight characters, no gay ones. Just bi.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that a better option, although it would obviously require more time, would be to have 3 LIs of each gender: One straight, One gay, One bi. That way, each "preference" would have 2 choices, but there would be more realism in the way the characters are presented.

I think all the LI's are bi. Why? Well, because no LI's have been revealed as bi yet. But all the romances have been revealed. Why make those wanting bi relationships wait, unless the point was that all the romance have been confirmed, and all of them are bi. By not telling us, they have told us everything.

Honestly, just from initial impressions, all the LI's seem like they could be bi to me. I am like 99.5% sure of my vote that I am right.

KOTOR had Juhani, although a glitch on the console version opened her up to men as well and much of her dialogue was cut. Also, there was the female Jedi who was inmpied to be Juhani's former lover and Herren and Wade in DA:O.

Also, I doubt they'll all be bi.

Not to be completely antagonistic, but I kind of agree with My Avatar is Batman. I know that showing an interest in women does not preclude an interest in men, and that is my immediate response when people people use Awakening for evidence of Anders' sexuality, but I also think that if a character isn't a certain sexuality, they aren't that sexuality. Having options for everyone is all well and good, and I trust the writers to give us compelling characters and plots regardless of what sexual orientation is involved. I'm not commenting on my views about the potential orientations of the particular batch of LIs we have this time around, especially not Anders, but I don't support any possible changes to any character being made just for the added content/"copping out"/however you want to phrase it. I know we don't know what his intended sexuality was in Awakenings, save that he wasn't homosexual, and I don't think there will be problems in this area in DAII. I also know that only the writers are actually aware of the ins and outs of the character, and any vibes we get are more likely wishful thinking more than anything. Still, those are my thoughts. Characterization before pleasing the masses, as even in a place like Thedas were views are rather relaxed, such a thing can still have an impact on the character.

Ideally, there would be exclusively gay options, but I don't think we'll be seeing that any time in the near future.

(I hope that didn't come across as too inflammatory. I have a hard time gauging how my tone will be perceived by others.)

Aha. I never said anything about Anders being straight.

For that matter, I'll say that that particular piece of information doesn't mean much. There's still no evidence or testimony that such interaction leads to a romance subplot. I wouldn't put it past Anders to respond to flirtatious dialogue in like no matter his personal orientation, given what we've seen of his personality. It's still very much up in the air.

Nope.  My estimation is that Ryzaki's tears have broken the calculator.

My money is on none of the companions being bi, and the S/S options being other NPCs. Its the only other reason, aside from everyone being bi, I can come up with for not revealing this by now. Either one would cause outcry within a section of fandom that Bioware would want to avoid.

I would prefer all the LIs were bi. More fun for everyone, and then maybe MHawke wouldn't have to get hitched to good ol' lefty.
