So you have plastic characters who are molded to the player's whims and have no "real" offscreen identity at all? We can't change their outfits, but we can change their identities?ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...
Well, when I (and many people who also speak in favor of the idea) use the term "bisexual," we don't mean Zevran bisexual. Just that the romance is open to PCs of either gender. How that is implemented is an unknown, since we don't have the game yet
I have to say, I'd hate that a lot.

No he didn't. Take him off and stop cheating or the bet means nothing.
Don't be a sour sport.

That "How that is implemented is an unkown" must have been hidden in fine print, so I'll say it more clearly.
How this might be implemented is an unkown.

^ Honestly, I'd be really interested to see how Bioware would do the "all bi" option.
Me too. So if they actually did make them all bi I'd end up playing the game with each s/s option just to see the diferences.

How else do you implement "I'm gay for you"? Either the character is or isn't bisexual.ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...

Sneaky sneaky Bioware.

Would you hate it if they implemented it so that you only had one sibling, whose class would vary depending in yours, i.e. if yours is a mage then theirs is a warrior, but if yours is a warrior or rogue then theirs is a mage? Because I really wouldn't mind.

It would add a lot of replayability. Not only would you re-romance someone to see the rivalry/friendship difference, but also the sexual orientation difference.

It would seem odd to me if they were all bisexual. Bets aside, I hope they aren't. If Bioware wants to be more 'politically correct' though, then perhaps a strictly gay companion would make more sense. That all people are either straight or bisexual is a questionable implication.
That's not what it's about, though. It's about gays and lesbians who play their sexuality having as many options as straight players who play theirs. We're a minority, yes, but that doesn't mean we're less important. As I said in reply to Filament, we don't know how BioWare might implement unrestricted romances, but Mr. Gaider professed his desire to do treat it as well as possible. I like Mr. Gaider, so I trust him that they wouldn't make it awkward.
That's understandable. My stance is merely that it would seem odd for all of the companions to be bisexual, just as it would seem odd if they were all male or all dwarf. If equal options for gay, lesbian, bi and straight people is the goal than a balanced line-up of 3 straight, 3 bisexual, and 3 gay companions (or some other variation that would come out balanced) would be my personal preference. I like having companions that differ from one another in as many ways as possible. A uniform characteristic as significant as sexuality would stand out to me and seem too.. intentional. I'm not saying anyone is wrong from wanting an all bi cast of companions. I simply have a differing opinion.
