Or they could put in the time and effort to bring back the ME 2 team, VS, and add in a few new faces. I can't imagine it would be that difficult, even if some would be dead. And in some cases like Legion and Tali, it really doesn't even make sense for them to leave the Normandy.

Yes and Yes.  Much like ME2 this game is going to be a standalone experience most likely entailing a new crew and set of LI's available.

why would anyone think theyd deserve more squadmates if they got their initial ones killed? if you want more squadmates in ME3, dont kill the ones from ME2.

if i start ME3 with a bunch of squad recruitments, ill never play another bioware game again. that might seem drastic, but really, whats the point of ME2 if not building the squad?

seriously ill puke out of my butt if ME3 doesnt have at the very least liara, wrex, miranda, garrus, tali, jacob, legion, grunt, and niftu cal.

There's going to be new squaddies for ME3, case closed. Why? Because BW isnt going to punish folks for either "accidentally" or, in mine and a few other's cases "deliberately" losing the maximum amount of squadmates you can lose in order to survive. Or, as I like to call it, my "Bloodbath" run. If they start "punishing" players for doing something like this, what's next? "What's that? You chose the renegade option for this convo? Opps!! Sorry!! You died!! Reload last save"

Or better yet; "What's that? In the very first convo during the beginning of the game you chose the renegade option? Ooops!! Sorry!!! That means the Reapers win and everyone dies so you just ran through the game for nothing!!! Reload last save and try again!!! Wait, you cant, because you saved just before the final battle!! Sucks to be you!!!!!"

And because they wont do that, because they "wont" punish us in a manner like that, that is why we will definately have new squadmates for ME3.

While I agree, if you died in the SM isn't your Shep no longer transferrable to ME3? If that's the case then they might hang you with the rope you made at least somewhat. If not, then disregard.

I'm willing to bet that most of the
ME3 squad will be ME1/2 veterans, with quite a few of them present in
the "default" save. New characters go without saying, just because
Bioware's too good at coming up with an awesome cast not to, plus ye
olde squad-nukers need a balanced crew, at least.

New LIs? At least two. For teh n00bs.

I'm hoping for a batarian, a fem-turian, Big Ben, and a salarian Spectre. As squadmates. Well, maybe LIs, too.

And
no, I really don't think including the old cast (at least partially)
should be considered "punishment" because, frankly, wrecking your new
car and demanding Daddy give you a new one shows a special degree of
stupid. Most squad-nukers either did it for the challenge or because
they didn't want [Squadmate] to make an appearance in ME3.

So maybe 6 new members to ensure a rounded crew at minimum? With of course maybe a few more DLCer's

Personally I think we will get male
batarian( LI) and Greyson( I think he is Big Ben sniper) if you
destroyed Collector base or that Cerberus guy that I want to put a boot
to the head if you let Cerberus keep base.

+2 more which I hope it's gonna be female Turain and female human.

Also VS too.

I actually would love if you had a Paragon/Renegade based squadmate. Like one of the many Batarians you encounter joining cause you spared/saved them or a Rachni vs maybe a Collector teched squadmate (given a Renegade would choose to end the game a certain way).

Though if I had my druthers I would select the last survivor of DC1938....

http://www.cerberusd...com/?tag=dc1938

I'm thinking Incinerate, Cryo Blast, Adrenaline Rush and Charge as the basics...optionally with durability that would make a Thresher Maw envious

If you're referring to the situations on Illium.  There's a slight difference.  They're voluntary.  Which turns it from slavery, into "endentured servitude"  If its the person's choice to become a "slave" so be it.  And yea, your statement may be true.  But at least they go out and broadcast it as an integral part of their caste system.

You expect every single citizen of an opressive regime to believe exactly what his or her government dictates?

Point taken.  But that doesnt mean I have to like or want them on my squad.  For me, first impressions last a lifetime.  And that was my "first impression" of the Batarians; "Slaving Bastards"   Even the raids on Mindoir were by Batarians I believe.  Once again, not a good first impression of Batarains.

So for information, do you get rid of Legion given your stated interest in shooting Geth?

Batarian and Vorcha squadmates are a must in ME3! They're the last two humanoid species that haven't been made allies and would greatly expand on the lore of both of them.

I do want some new faces. Think of all the characters we love from ME2 it makes me want to meet more characters to fall in love with. Grunt was one
Of my favorites I would like him back but new people isn't a bad thing.

Also judging by the trailer Shep will need more than 5 or 6 we might have multiple teams going on. That would be cool. Everyone can join in the Reaper madness!

At least two new characters are pretty much a given.

A male and female. Last chance for any Shepard that's kept his/her pants on so far.

I'm thinking as an absolute minimum 3 new squaddies just to have all the bases covered, and then as a worst case scenario you have a few other options like the 3 ME1 squaddies, and the (1 or 2?) minimum squadmembers from ME2. So potentially 7-8 minimum, and really you kinda forced that on yourself with a max of maybe 20.

i think if you got squadmates killed you dont get any news at all in me3 so only 2 survived you only get those 2 for the whole game it would make the game more challenging if no new squamates were given to you

Completely agree. If you unwisely unprepared for the final battle, then the consequence of that action should be there.

I personally would not like to see any more new ones. Just build upon all the ones we have now (from both ME andf ME2).

Bioware's proven they can make compelling squaddies, so I don't mind a few more, but yeah there are plenty of places to mine from the current crew. I mean aside from Superman (which I'm at most half-joking about wanting), still plenty of places to go to reward past choices (sparing Wrex and the Rachni queen, keeing the Collector base intact, etc) or to investigate specific groups that we haven't gone into (female Turians, Batarians, Vorcha, Raloi, Volus, etc). In universe female Salarians are rare, Elcor use vehicle class weapons (and presumably armor/shields), and Hanar can't wield guns so I can excuse them for this final chapter to Shepard's story, but yeah I wouldn't mind another chance at a Mordin or Legion.

Wow you got some high exspectations buddy.Anyway, it would make sense to have a good amount of new squad mates for the people that lost some in ME2 and for the new players just getting started in ME3, I mean it wouldnt make sense if say you only Miranda survives and shes your only squad mate in ME3 plus some from ME1.So good luck with the whole puking out your buttImage IPB, you should really get that checked outImage IPB.

I think there will be a few new squad mates in ME3. The ME2 squad will probably disband before long, they did have their own lives afterall. The only ones I can see staying are Garrus and Grunt. Miranda and Jacob will return to Cerberus, Samara to Asari space, Legion to Geth space, Tali to the Flotilla, and Thane to his son and deathbed. Jack might stay on but that would probably depend on her opinion of Shepard. IDK 'bout Kasumi or that old guy.

I honestly expect

many shiny new squadmates (so as not to confuse newbie players)
and
many shiny new LI's for you to cheat with (you know... need to give the newbies some T&A)

and lots of cameos (so as not to confuse the newbies).

I can see this happening too but I say F@#% the newbies. If they want to know whats going on they can buy and play the previous games or go read the F@#%&^! wiki. True fans of the series shouldn't have to suffer for them.

THIS, SO MUCH THIS.

Eff the new players. They should buy the other games first anyway! I want my old squadmates... Ashley in particular. What's the point of recruiting everyone and their brother in ME2 and then saying.... HEY, GUESS WHAT!!?!? ... YOU GET TO DO IT AGAIN!!!

Of course that's how it should happen! But do you really think Bioware would do that?

Not to mention, they would give everyone AT LEAST two new squadmates so that newbies can play and have a squad.

YES. Who buys the third installment in a series without playing the first two anyway?
