A friend of mine said the demo put him off buying the game, I, having played it on the PC, thought he was hella crazy but played the 360 version to see how different it was. He mentioned that he had to spam A and I assumed he wasn't using auto-attack correctly.
Is there really no auto-attack on the 360 version? I had to sit there and spam the A button to attack and found that a pretty sucky feature.
Aplogies if there have already been a ton of threads on this, just suprised me is all.
No auto attack on 360?

I've played the Playstation version of the game and and if I pressed the X Button (A on the Xbox) and hold it in - my Mage character at the time kept mashing out attacks like if it was auto attacks.
But.. I haven't found any other way then that.

They confirmed that auto-attack will be an option for the final game on xbox and ps3. It just wasn't in the demo because it's supposedly a toggle that is set on off by default.

Yeah, at first it kinda gives you this fast paced feeling, when you have to hit X or A repetedly and actually I dont think that it is particularly "sucky" as it is, but after some hours of playing and fighting, I think Id prefer some auto-attacking feature!
I think the optimal solution for Bioware would be to give the player the choice in the Options section or something, whether or not they want to smash X or just tap it once for auto-attack
Edit:
SapphireFire actually posted the exact same time as me, so, yeah, as i said, give players the choice. By the way, Sapphire, where did you read that?

You can toggle Origins-style push-once-to-auto-attack combat on the consoles. Originally we weren't going to include it, but some persuasive arguments about accessibility concerns won the day.
By default, it's push to attack, however, and I really do think that's the better way to play. The targeting is pretty sleek.
