There's quite detailed rib cage in this very screenshot (to the left of red circles) which pretty much makes the point for people who are arguing that DA2 is worse in this regard...Saibh wrote...
The skeletons are no worse, and no better. You zoomed in as close as you could possibly get. The DAO skeleteons look just as bad.

Noone got "pwned". Technically the graphic engine is more improved than in origins, in DA2. I'm not about the explain what's new in the engine and so forth, but the fact remains that if an engine is more capable of, the graphics are better, regardless of these kind of screenshots. I can play DAO on 800x600 low settings, post a screenshot, and say "Omaigod the n64 has better graphics than this!" You can't say **** basing it on a screenshot. So until the actual game comes out, you may want to stop making a fool out of yourself.iamrawn wrote...

Here's a screenshot from Dragon Age: Origins:
http://h-5.abload.de...05-14-13mun.jpg
Look at the skeletons on the ground. All the bones are individually modeled and there are no repeating patterns anywhere.
Now compare that to this Dragon Age 2 screenshot:
http://bioware.files...2011/02/077.jpg
Now look at these skeletons in the lower left. The skeletons are all really low-res with crappy textures and there are a bunch of repeating skull/ribcage pieces all over the place.
That's the kind of thing you'd see on the N64, not a PC with these system requirements:
Recommended:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz Processor or equivalent
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 Triple core 2.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM: 2GB (4 GB Vista and Windows 7)
Video: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater
Video: NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater
Haha, wow. Looks like that Saibh person got, what's the word? Oh yeah, PWNED!

Regardless. Dissing DA2 for its graphics is just pure ignorance. Just because other games out there have better graphics doesn't make DA2 rubbish.
They're not just dissing it because other games out there have better graphics. They're dissing it because Dragon Age: Origins had better graphics. At least on PC it did. Consoles are getting an upgrade but PC gamers are getting a downgrade and that's why they're disappointed with the graphics of Dragon Age 2.

I agree... the graphics have noticeably improved since Origins.

I mean, what is up with those gigantic eye sockets, that look like they've been scared? What's up with the beak? No skeleton in Thedas should look like that.
The ones that are repeating are from defeated enemies.
The ones that look weird are probably from non-human skeletons.

I don't like the skeletons in that screenshot. In either, really. The rib cage definitely looks better in Origins/Awakening.
But, here:

Tavern in DAII:

Do you not see how easy that is to do?

A ribcage made of ribs and a ribcage made of a textured box is an absolutely huge difference.Saibh wrote...
The skeletons are no worse, and no better.
It's simply the difference between a PC designed game and a console designed game ... you can waste a couple hundred extra polygons on things like this without caring on a PC title, you can't on a console title.
That doesn't mean DA2 can't improve in other areas, but they clearly dialed down textures and polygons/effort dedicated to environmental garnish.

It's a little more than that. DA2 is pretty much hated and ridiculed constantly on Neogaf (as well as a number of other huge gaming forums..), especially with Witcher 2 on the horizon. Combination of the horrible marketing and the game itself..
It's hated and ridiculed here, too.
Didn't the OP do a similar DAO thread?
The "OP" is the actual owner of NeoGAF.
Suspected due to your defense of them. No one is taking it serious though. I found the last image funny. Like with all games - you can always mock something but I still hold my views about dissing it for silly things like some have after playing the demo.
