Wow this thread got derailed fast, insecure fans much xD

more like passionate fans vs. passonate critisizers and trolls.

Then again, i could care less about graphics, and thing the whole hullaballo is overblown.

Oh, and i thought the stuff you posted was hillarious as a parody Posted Image

It's funny because if you really followed NeoGAF you'd understand they do this with good intent. Loads of people are looking forward to it, sure a few smacks the not so visually super hot graphics, but people are mostly positive and just having a laugh at the thread.

It's a little more than that. DA2 is pretty much hated and ridiculed constantly on Neogaf (as well as a number of other huge gaming forums..), especially with Witcher 2 on the horizon. Combination of the horrible marketing and the game itself..

It's hated and ridiculed here, too.

Didn't the OP do a similar DAO thread?

The "OP" is the actual owner of NeoGAF.

Suspecting due to your defense of them. No one is taking it serious though. I found the last image funny. Like with all games - you can always mock something but I still hold my views about dissing it for silly things like some have after playing the demo.

NeoGAF can get as ugly as any internet forum, but how could I not defend that thread? It's superbly done.

Noone got "pwned". Technically the graphic engine is more improved than in origins, in DA2. I'm not about the explain what's new in the engine and so forth, but the fact remains that if an engine is more capable of, the graphics are better, regardless of these kind of screenshots. I can play DAO on 800x600 low settings, post a screenshot, and say "Omaigod the n64 has better graphics than this!"  You can't say **** basing it on a screenshot. So until the actual game comes out, you may want to stop making a fool out of yourself.

I don't even know from where to begin telling you how inherently wrong you are, but this is another discussion for another thread.... people should just stop talking about stuff they don't even comprehend.

How so? Must I start to explain what Functions DAO graphic didn't have and what DA2 Will Have?
Pc version : Full blown DX11, self shadowing, normal mapping, parallax
maping (high), SSAO, tesellation(when the dx11 render being used), soft
shadows(dx11), blur and other post-processing effects... I could go on and on. If they look bad to YOU, or you play on low settings, than it's you and your matter of taste. The fact remains DA2>DAO graphically.

I can't believe that some people here are actually taking the thread seriously and are now discussing the DA2 graphics...

Yeah, but those are meant to be close up. The ones on the other are in a place that you're not going to walk over.

I don't think that's true.

Past the rocks. They're not in your path.

Yes, but you get within couple meters of these things without going past the rocks. That fits the idea of "close up" to me, and that extra 1-2 meters isn't going to make a fundamental difference. They aren't far distance props, simple as that.

In the demo enemies don't leave skeletons iirc. If there's loot then you see complete body and after you loot it, it sinks into the ground.

Technically speaking, the DA2 engine is better than the DAO engine for reasons you have stated in your reply.

Visually and artistically speaking they're not, even when using DX11, and even when you compare DX11 DA2 screenshots with DX9 DAO screenshots, all the features your mentioned are depending on the actual implementation more or less useless in the current direction they're taking the game's artistic side, you'd know what I'm talking about if you've used the DX library or any game engine before.

Features like tesellation and its effects can be produced and/or mimicked using other features like parallax occlusion mapping, the advantage DX11 graphics has over DX9 is barely noticeable unless you're specifically looking for them and even then lots of games which never used DX11 are looking a lot better than DA2 which is using DX11... if the art style is giving the illusion of lower quality graphics then for all intents and purposes it is lower quality graphics.

DA2 has a techincal advantage over DAO, but never a visual one.

agreed. this kind of reminds me of that flow chart someone posted a while back from another website that pretty much tried to say that every bioware game follows the same exact pattern. it was a spoof. it's funny. take anything on a macro level an dit can be done. same as the thread link. pick out some images and quotes and it can make for a very funny thread. nothing for anyone to be getting upset over.

For reference, this was NeoGAF's official thread for Dragon Age: Origins: http://www.neogaf.co...ad.php?t=378063

It actually makes the DA2 thread funnier because it references some of those other jokes. ^_^

Whats up with the people being such a graph ****s? I can only run DA2 on medium settings yet I don't come here and complain about it. The graphics are good enough for me.. gameplay and story comes first to me. I still play some really old ass games.

I know people have different priorities and since technology is getting better each year and people expect more eye candy for their games but still.. geez.

How DARE you, OP, bringing laughs into the table? Could you be so inconsequent as to try and diverge our focus from defending the game's graphics? I thank the Maker for all the responsible people willing to step in and defend the poor franchise. You should be ashamed for not having hardened your heart enough through so much virtual tragedy in multiple RPGs over the years,

Seriously though, I'll never forget the "I'll never forget you". That must be one of the most stupid, ridiculous line ever. It was tremendously cliché and at the same time painfully out of place. I literally laughed out loud when I heard that. I can't fathom what crossed the mind of whoever wrote that. Didn't ANYONE throughout the whole writing and voice acting process have a child, or at least common sense? NOBODY would ever say that to a dying child.
