Noone got "pwned". Technically the graphic engine is more improved than in origins, in DA2. I'm not about the explain what's new in the engine and so forth, but the fact remains that if an engine is more capable of, the graphics are better, regardless of these kind of screenshots. I can play DAO on 800x600 low settings, post a screenshot, and say "Omaigod the n64 has better graphics than this!"  You can't say **** basing it on a screenshot. So until the actual game comes out, you may want to stop making a fool out of yourself.

I don't even know from where to begin telling you how inherently wrong you are, but this is another discussion for another thread.... people should just stop talking about stuff they don't even comprehend.

How so? Must I start to explain what Functions DAO graphic didn't have and what DA2 Will Have?
Pc version : Full blown DX11, self shadowing, normal mapping, parallax
maping (high), SSAO, tesellation(when the dx11 render being used), soft
shadows(dx11), blur and other post-processing effects... I could go on and on. If they look bad to YOU, or you play on low settings, than it's you and your matter of taste. The fact remains DA2>DAO graphically.

Having all those interesting new capabilities doesn't necessarily mean that they were taken advantage of fully or well.  Bragging up the engine's theoretical abilties as if that automatically makes the graphics better is like bragging about how high your new airplane can fly before you've ever flown it.

Oh come on guys, that was in good spirit. Half the posters after the OP state that the game is day 1 purchase for them, it's not like this was the Codex or some other jerkass haven. The marketing department did handle DA2 with questionnable decisions and actions, that's what the thread pokes fun at, and I laughted out loud at the system specs and Mama Hawke's 'should have pressed A' comment.

Then again, i could care less about graphics, and thing the whole hullaballo is overblown.

Oh, and i thought the stuff you posted was hillarious as a parody Posted Image

Yes, anyone who criticizes = troll. It couldn't be that there are fans of the series at large upset with directions the sequel has taken.

Oh, how much less could you care? I'm intrigued.

(It's "I couldn't care less". Please use it correctly.)

I thought it was pretty funny, and not at all cruel. The tension came when someone interpreted as mean-spirited, though.

How DARE you, OP, bringing laughs into the table? Could you be so inconsequent as to try and diverge our focus from defending the game's graphics? I thank the Maker for all the responsible people willing to step in and defend the poor franchise. You should be ashamed for not having hardened your heart enough through so much virtual tragedy in multiple RPGs over the years,

Seriously though, I'll never forget the "I'll never forget you". That must be one of the most stupid, ridiculous line ever. It was tremendously cliché and at the same time painfully out of place. I literally laughed out loud when I heard that. I can't fathom what crossed the mind of whoever wrote that. Didn't ANYONE throughout the whole writing and voice acting process have a child, or at least common sense? NOBODY would ever say that to a dying child.

That's right, the answer to people defending the graphics is to mock the dialogue!

How could I not see it earlier?

I still laugh at this quote from Mike Laidlaw:

"Okay, this is, I think, more welcoming." Not "dumbed down" or anything like that, but welcoming. Like starting the game, your character walks up, says something kind of over the top, and immediately starts exploding Darkspawn."

I mean wtf xD

Making the decision to focus pretty much their entire marketing campaign on the Return to **** Mountain opening section was the strangest PR decision I could ever imagine.

People kicked up a fuss about Marilyn Manson at the DA:O buildup, but that was only music. This time it's the game itself that's the source of derision, and it's kind of worrying.

All we can do, I suppose, is settle for enjoying it ourselves and hope the game does well regardless.

Well that's basically what the neoGAF post is doing as well, though not so bitterly. It is an awkward response to losing one's child.

Don't take NeoGAF so seriously, please. They are a huge community, so there will be lots of bitter types, of course, but I'm sure most of the people are just having some fun with it. It's also one of the best places to get early info, depending on what types of games you're into.

Just be glad it's not rpgcodex, where any deviation from the formula of early 90s PC RPGs is a crime against humanity.

Funny though i find GAFfers attitude to be very childish despite them being generally rather reasonable. I take it that the thread's creator is making fun of that attitude a bit...

Omg, I laughed really hard at this. The way it was all pieced together was great.
Mind you, I love Bioware and I am really excited for DA2, but I see nothing wrong with poking a bit of fun at them either.

I find there's nothing wrong with good-natured ribbing, whether you're a fan or a critic. As long as there is a measure of respect for the material you're talking about, it should be fine. So let's please cut out the less-than-good-natured hate for other online communities, regardless of whether you agree with them or not.

We can disagree with each other without resorting to name-calling or insults. Thank you.

lol

I loved the 'Isn't there too much melee for me to be in the party?' and 'Brother! Why didn't you roll a mage?'

Honestly if you can unite criticism and fun like that It is actually awesome. Also criticism in general is a good thing and also if you can laugh about yourself. And you have to admit Bioware kinda asked for it.

That doesn't keep me from buying, playing and probably enjoying the game though.

sheesh. I i didnt mean to imply all those that have something negative to say are trolls. I was saying its them PLUS the trolls (one is exclusive of the other) vs. passionate fans. Way to read into something. Maybe i should have used the word OR instead of AND to make it easier to understand, so i apologise.

Also, im SO SORRY for my forgetting of 2 letters and a punctuation mark. You know what i was saying. No need to be a complete ass about it.

I also have no ill intent to those who feel Bioware has made mistakes and can argue that point in a calm, logical manner.

Anyho, after that little rant, i had to go back to the site for some laughs. Thanks OP. Posted Image
