My Shepard died once and came back. Another death would be so anti-climatic. My Shepard ain't dying again, that's for sure.

The way I see it is Shepard is living on borrowed time. S/He was killed once and soon the natural order will catch up; it SHOULD catch up. Plus the amount of trauma both physical and emotional s/he's been burdened with, a big heroic death will give them some peace.

It makes more sense to me than having Shepard attempt to settle into an ordinary mundane life; a decorated hero like that is certainly not going to adjust well after all they've seen:

I definitely see Shepherd an option where Shepard sacrifices himself to save the galaxy but there has to be a way out of that like in Dragon Age Origins. There is no way that the Renegade is any thing evil (such as joining the Reapers and enslaving the galaxy) Renegade Shep is not evil just very harsh and pro-human.
I see the endings as
Shepard dying to save humanity
Shepard defeating the reapers and living peacefully with their LI (their has to be consequences to this one) [Both of these somehow restore balance between all the races
Shepard defeats the Reapers but the galaxy is very pro-human

Paragon: Shepard sacrifices himself in order to destroy the Reaper fleet. A memorial is built on the Citadel in honor of Commander Shepard, first human Spectre, Hero of the Citadel, Savior of the galaxy. His love interest is seen standing in front of the memorial following the service, hoping that he's in a better place, and that the galaxy will always remember what he did in order to save everyone in it.

Renegade: Shepard sacrifices either his team / his reinforcements in order to stop the Reaper fleet. Months after his victory a candle-lit memorial service is held to celebrate those who lost their lives in order to stop the Reaper invasion. Much to everyone's surprise, the infamous Commander Shepard does not attend the service. Years after the war's end, just about everyone has forgotten about the Commander's part in stopping the Reapers, except for those who know him best, and his faithful love interest.

Shepard's still pretty young. I think he'd find his own network, outside of Cerb, Mercs, Spectres, Council or Alliance.

Also, the game has a good run of B-movie cliches in it. It needs a B-move cliche ending.

From http://mysterymanonf...vie-clichs.html

6) 'We've been expecting you...'
Whenever
a hero fights his way into the villains fortress, escaping multiple
assassination attempts, he will be caught and taken to the villain, who
will invariably greet him with, "Weve been expecting you." GERARDO
VALERO, MEXICO CITY

24) Bad Guy Credentials Demo
In
any movie where the villain is a really, really bad guy, whose
dysfunction and malice transcend that of the ordinary evildoer, he
establishes that fact early in the film by coldly killing one of his own
men. (See Darth Vader, many Bond villains, Russian Mafia leader in "The
Jackal," etc.) DIRK KNEMEYER, Bowling Green, Ohio

63) Collapsing Staircase
When
a character is rescued from a staircase during a disaster movie or
thriller, the staircase always collapses the moment the rescue is
completed. SCOT MURPHY, Highland Park, IL

73) Dead Man Sleeping
When
a dead mans eyes are closed in the movies, the lids are shut with one
hand, never two, and both at once, never one and then the other.

84) Doing Radio
A
characters lines describe what we can see happening on the screen.

in "Titanic," says, "Lets get out of here! This place is flooded!" Tom
Norris, Braintree, Mass.

Defeating the Reapers opens up a whole new network of Mass Relays leading to galactic civilazations similar in structure and circumstance (a Citidel based government and being periodically kulled by the Reapers).

This way the ME universe EXPANDS instead of contracts at the end. I really, just don't want ME3 to be the end of Mass Effect.

Reaper death by attrition. Since there's no way in hell the galaxy can defeat all of the Reapers, preventing them from getting inside of the galaxy through some deus ex machina of awesomeness is all I want so they sit out and starve in Darkspace. Anything else beyond that, I have no expectations.

Make it an option for those who would like to see the game played out that way but I  would hope BW wouldn't force it on the players.

An "ALL IS LOST ENDING" resulting from too many screw ups in past games would be awesome!

Best Ending possible:

-Reapers either completely annihilated or on the run, never to come back.
-Genophage partially cured (10 to 20% birthrate would be acceptable.)
-Geth and Quarian Peacy treaty. (Homeplanet given to the Quarian as a sing of peace)
-Batarian rejoined the Citadel
-Cerberus no longer doing terrorist activities and becoming the #1 Human Spectre funding and Merc. Company.
-Human gaining trust from other species.
-Geth Opening an ambassy on the citadel or at least keeping contact with other races.

Most are just wishes who won't happen but I'd love to see that.

With all the Tali love I would die from
shock if BioWare didn't give some option like that.

I'll
die of shock if you can actually do it.

I don't think they could get away with not doing something for each possible LI. Even if they start running out of time and have to cut things they would bare minimum throw in some dialog with your IL about what they are going to do after the reaper threat.

I think they should have a super paragon everyone is alive and happy ending but it should not be easy to get. On your first playthrough if you don't make all the best calls you should have to make difficult sacrifices. The reapers are about to destroy the Asari homeworld and the Quarian fleet but you only have the resources to save one of them. Who do you pick? How will that affect what your LI thinks of you? Decisions that make you have to put the controller and really think about what you are going to do.

Why does Renegade mean evil exactly? As far as I know, Mass Effect has left the good/evil morality system behind. Renegade doesn't even have to be pro-human. A pro-human is most likely renegade but a renegade can be as much pro-alien as a paragon.

Paragon: Whole galaxy is in ruins, but Reapers are defeated after a long fight. It should not be easy, anyway. Shep takes a ship and flies away without telling anyone where (s)he is going.

Renegade: Humans will pay for their arrogance. New Wonderweapons fail. Later Reapers are defeated and galaxy is safe at least few hundred years before humans rebuild and start to cause problems again. Shep takes control of Cerberus and rules the remains of Earth.
